@StrangeLove: No I just posted my favorite game with each system, since I didn't have room for all of them in the pic. Gears of War is currently my favorite 360 game, Warhawk my favorite PS3 game, and Zelda TP my favorite Wii game. I have Halo 3 it's just not my cup of tea, so I'm letting my friend borrow it since he's a crazed fan.

Actually that would be pretty awesome. I'm a sucker for ingenius weapons. That's why I like Insomniac so much. They always put in unique gadgets and weapons.

Also yeah you are right. It wasn't that expensive for me however.
My 360 was free, my Wii I bought with my own money at launch, and my PS3 was only $350 after trade-ins, promotions, and the price-drop, plus I got 5 free blu-ray movies, 12 months of free rentals, a 1 year PSM subscription, and an MVP card at GameCrazy with the purchase lol.

wait... Fact? Hang on a sec. You sound like you're stating an opinion actually. You don't offer any alternatives to what the best FPS is... just saying that it's not the best. that's not a very good fact, and a pretty poorly stated opinion..

As for the hype.. hang on a sec... let me check... Halo 3 was released, in most of the world, on the 25th. Europe got it on the 26th, and Japan got it on the 27th. There are 30 days in September. Today, is October 1st. So... at maximum, you've had about 6 days to play with your new game. And that's assuming your lucky enough to be american.

okay, I'll accept this as factual enough. I like this feature. it makes it alot easier to find new people in my Real Life to play with. That doens't mean everyone will naturalyl excell at it.

and epersonally, I like not having to explain in great detail how to use each weapon. "This fires slow, but hits hard. Use it close range" Is sweet and simple.

Opinion again. *I* might think Halo 3 is boring! I also might LOVE and adore the game for one reason or another. But.. reminding again, that halo has been released to the market for less than a week! give it a few more days at least before you start complaining about about people talking about it! not everyone has had time to buy it, and beat it. Some of us have jobs, and a real life.

Actually, I wouldn't expect hype to end for a bit yet. Peopel who want it, already have it, in most cases. so NOW is when they try to convince peopel who were on the fense, or had previously say "nah" to buy the game, as well as trying to lure people--like me--who do not have a xbox360 yet to buy one because of thise omg-awesome game.

as for kotaku... they're running a news blog here. what happens if they ignore a tip? someone else will send it to them.. again and again and again. There is no way they can say "don't mail us about this" because then it's as good as posting it. Also, their cred could be hurt if they DON"T post something that was delivered to them by a reputable, large sorce, or that everyone else has.

Bottom line here is, as ever, "If you don't like it, dont' read it!"

Oh.. and BTW.. I hope you enjoy your xbox360, your Wii and Your PS3. I'm hoping that I can afford to get one of them for christmas. But given that I've needed to purchase a new computer--required for the small portion of work that I need to do at home each day (my company refuses to give me a laptop.)--I doubt that I'll beable to afford one. The mortgage and the bills, unfortunatly, come first.

Calling Halo 3 an average game is just trolling, ridiculous flame-bait. I'm not going to respond to your "points", because it's obvious you have a set opinion that's not going to influenced by people who have actually played the game.

Fact: Your opinion is not a fact.

Fact: Halo has a 9.4 average score through 42 press ratings, and only three of those ratings are less than 9.0 (an 8.9, an 8.0, and a 7.0, which very obviously lower the average score from the other 39 9.0+ scores). That's almost 93% of the reviews scoring it as a great game.

But I forgot, the press is teh biased, and MS just pays everyone, myself included, to like their game because MS isn't actually a company that tries to make money, they're an evil Orwellian entity.

Or, you know, just play the games you like and stop trying to piss on everyone who loves Halo. Can't you just leave people alone to enjoy their hobby without propagandizing and trolling its forum topics?

My friends had a gaming night the other day. Everyone brought Halo.
I brought my PS3 and Warhawk, people nearly kicked it. They didn't want to give any other FPS a chance because it's not Halo -.-

Simplification has pros and cons. Makes it easier to use, but also takes out degrees of depth that are needed.

Grenades and melee being as important as gunfire? That's an element in almost every FPS.
Integral vehicles? Once again, been in FPS's for 10 years, and the vehicles aren't even anything uniquely revolutionary. Jeeps, floating bikes, and planes well-disguised with the name "Banshee".

You want to talk about balance? Go play Warhawk.

Um, actually you DID tell people to "get over it" and "move on to better games." So you basically said they shouldn't like it as much as they do and they should go play something you consider "better." If that's not telling people what they should or should not like then I don't know what is.

Also, you can't be point out the "fact" that Halo 3 isn't the greatest thing ever or the best FPS out there or whatever, because there is no greatest or best out there, period. Its all preference. That "fact" is your opinion.

You say the gameplay is simplified, so what FPS isn't simplified? I'd think having grenades and melee be almost as important as gunfire, having vehicles be an integral part of the gameplay, limiting people to two weapons, being able to take cover and recharge, to dual wield, to board vehicles, and use equipment which can radically alter an otherwise mundane encounter makes Halo's gameplay far from simplified. One of Halo's strongpoints is that it is easily accesible and anyone has a shot at killing anyone else but you know what, that's called BALANCE and not many games balance out the wide range of weapons and vehicles and powerups as well as Halo. Im not saying Halo is the best FPS because most people who play FPS regularly have a certain type they like and know they all FEEL very different. Halo feels different than Unreal which feels different from Quake which feels different from Battlefield. It doesnt make one better than the other as each one has people who prefer the way those games play. Its called preference You are entitled to your opinions, but don't start saying that they are FACTS.

Like I said before, get over yourself.
