@mossberg: For reference, Penny-Arcade runs a the Childs Play charity (and collects no administrative fees). You can view the site and the previous years total donations at the official Childs Play website.

Ironically enough, 9 out of 10 gamers I know donate to this charity.

Well, this sucks. I got banned from that pathetic game to begin with, but I had 5 or so houses on Naboo, near some really nice waterfront area. Most of them were for storage, and I had hundreds upon hundreds of types of loot, many of them rare. Not only could everyone gawk at the stuff they couldn't have, but they'd never get that waterfront area. Even after my banning, SOE still rubs it in. Curses!

And I wouldn't trust SOE's whole bit with charity work. Remember, they eat babies, and you never trust a company that does that.

I love how whenever an MMO is mentioned (even in passing) on Kotaku and sites like it, there are usually a number of comments that effectively state "_____ sucks, _____ is more fun," or "_____ is stupid, nobody plays it anymore." By no means do I think this kind of dialogue isn't appropriate -- not at all -- it's like stoners trying to convince you which jam band is the best even though they sound like a Bob Dylan tribute band being pushed down a flight of stairs. It's good entertainment. Anyway, I digress. I mean, we can all agree that FFXI is not fun, but Star Wars Galaxies isn't all that bad. SWG is like an attractive female with a bad drinking problem. Sure, she's good-looking and offers the potential for fun, but then she vomits on your lap and it smells bad.
