@Yetanotheruninspiredscreename: Yeah I know that, I did not forgot to mention about it. But the point is about Nintendo Japan's Sale Chart. I have to pay 21.94 for a US Wii sports game (that includes shipping).

My point is that if the Nintendo Wii is Region Free. Japan will have more sales thanks to the people (outside Japan) importing japanese games.

Video

@TokeYo: Of course it fails thanks to the Region Lock of the Wii. If the Wii was Region Free many people will buy Wii Sports (japanese version only) everybody will import it.

If you do not understand what is a Region Lock just click below.

[en.wikipedia.org]

Many people from different Regions (except japan of course) thought that the Nintendo Wii will be Region Free like the DS. But that did not happen.

The Nintendo DS Games are the most sold because the DS system is Region Free. For example: "Jump Ultimate Stars" is a fighting game for the Nintendo DS, but you only can buy it in Japan. More information about this game in the link below.

[en.wikipedia.org]

Many people outside Japan knows about this game and is very popular of course. What does the people do.... Well they import it. Other Japanese games (only buy-able in japan) are imported from people of different Regions. That is why the Nintendo DS games are the most sold.

If you can see at the chart again. You will see 18 titles of the Nintendo DS.

You might be thinking why the Wii can't be the same as the DS?

Very simple, like I said previously the Wii have a Region lock. If you buy a Nintendo Wii from your Region (except the Japanese Wii) and you import a Japanese game. Your Nintendo Wii system will not run the game because the game was not created for you Wii's Region. (If you did not understand what I say go back up and click the Region Link...

If you want to play Naruto Shippūden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX 2 (Japanese Wii playable only), but your Wii is from another Region(European, American, Oceania, China...etc). Well too bad, you better stick with Wii Bowling (is fun anyways).

Just checked the Japanese release list for 9/27 (the day Halo 3 comes out over here), and there's no way that it can be #1. Also coming out:

Nintendo DS:
Bartender DS
Eiken DS (an English-training game)

PLAYSTATION 3:
Oblivion

Ok, while Bartender DS probably won't get #1, there's a good chance Oblivion could do well. Not to mention the behemoth that is any English-training game. :)

cykeichan

@quen: I see what you saying, but the fact is the vision of the gamecube version was diffrent from the DS one.

It forced players to work togthor using thier gameboys linked up. Frustrated, I did not understand this at first and questioned why they did not just use the GC controllers.

They used the gameboy connection in a special way that forced players to cooperate. with each one having a different kind of map. A friend would shout out if an enemy was near. Another would tell us if there was any nearby treasures. etc.

Super spells required precise timing (firaga, curaga, etc.)Not two people could have the same spells adding even more dependency on each other. The race system that determines how your stats will be raised and the bonus system at the end of levels was excellent. The game is pure fun if you over look the menial requirements.

That was the year 2004. Now with the DS it would be much easier to pick up and play with others online. In my mind, it would be the same concept as the Gamecube one (random maps and all). When I heard that you could pick classes I was spazzing out. Not only would you get to pick a race now you can tweak your skills being a certain class!

In conclusion, from the reviews that I read I think I'll be disappointed, as it does not have the same things that made the first a team effort.

You would be lucky if even one attacks you with the AI. ;D

As I stated before its more closer to their KESSEN series, and I for one am glad that they have tried to take it in a new direction, since the whole Japan / China thing has been done to death for a bit.
