Given how long it took to develop Fable and how quickly it took to play it through, I suddenly don't find myself not caring about Fable 2 or Peter Molyneaux. I applaud him for at least trying new things, but he should focus on tech demos of his concepts rather than half-baked full productions. Why Lionhead hasn't gone the way of Ion Storm boggles the mind.

is it really impossible for a dev to talk about a game without falling into hyperbole? I think not. Sakurai at SmashBros.com is avoiding it (for now).

That said, I am looking forward to playing Fable 2.

I thought the first one was a decent game, but that's it. Decent. It wasn't helped by Molyneux's huge fucking mouth, and this one won't be either. I mean, you can pimp your game. You can even pimp your game too much. But to pimp your game too much, get fucking critically hammered (hammered by critics) for it, and then DO IT AGAIN? Jesus, I tire of this man. I hope it's good. The dog thing looked really cool. But the man needs to shut the fuck up already.

@cyhborg: Technically, they just said that it was going to 'kick Bioshocks water' so I'm taking from that that the game can cross connect with Bioshock and then a booted (or perhaps bootless) foot (with massive shadowness) will kick Bioshocks water, HARD

I might actually develop some interest in the game if the devs and PR people just SHUT UP instead of promoting the game as the second coming of Christ.

I dont know why everyone is going nuts over the water effects in bioshock. Yes they were good, but nothing really special.
Even 6 year old MGS2 had better water drops on the screen(you know after you resurface from under the water)...A 4 year old MGS3 has better water splashes, bubbles and few other water things.
p.s.
Have replayed MGS2+3 this week, so i could not to notice this, since i beat the bioshock before that ^^

Petey boy overhypes his games, plain and simple. I thought Fable was a good game. Not great, not bad. But he made it sound like it'd be amazing.

I just hope he doesn't condemn Fable 2 to the same fate. I mean, there is no shame in releasing an 85 metacritic type game with some mass appeal. Most devs can't even do that.

But when you try to make it sound like a AA game is AAA, it ruins the game and makes you look like ass.

What does that even mean? I'm pretty sure that next to, say, Destruction Derby or Virtua Cop that this game is going to look like a Masterpiece, but the ambiguity suggests that might be it - whereas you might want to mean it looks better than Gears of War.

Black and White was the last Molyneuxuejfeiuboimeeiou game I bought. All that hype, all those glowing reviews for a really boring semi-rts with a braindead pet told me "nope, nothing this guy does is gonna work out." Frankly I hope he keeps making games, cause the hype machines and promises are hilarious to the point of being more entertaining than the games themselves. At least he didn't name this one Project Ego 2.

I am getting really sick and tired of these previews way before any cohesive version of Beta is on the horizon... I know these games in paticular take time to develop example SPORE, but I don't need the conceptual implementation news/hype on a game that is going take 3 or more years to develop.

The games can change so much from then.

I also know this keeps the buzz going but it has become annoying, and stings harder when the game is a letdown "Warhawk" was like that for me.

If anyone watched the DVD on the development of the hit Bioshock you know that the concept and design changed a great deal before beta.

So what I am saying is Peter save the 2 more years out speil for the DVD MS gave U the dough just develop.

Why is it whenever I read something from Lionhead's hype machine, be it Molyneux or someone who's learned from him, it makes me want their game even less?

For the record, it takes balls to your knees to say you're gonna topple Bioshock's water effects. I would hope they can back that up, but I really don't care. :/

Can someone please explain to these companies that there is such a thing as too much hype? Bioshock is a submersed world in which water is so integral as to be EVERYWHERE. Unless you're making a pitstop in Atlantis, I doubt the dynamics of the water are going to turn a lot of heads.

I'm really looking forward to Fable 2, and I hope Lionhead delivers. But I doubt we will see it in 2008. I really hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling it's going to take longer than everyone is expecting. Still, I can't wait to play it when it is released. Even if it's two years away.
