Anyone competing in the costume contest was not a Blizzard employee/temp hire, or Blizzard employee family member. The two blonde blood elf girls with the matching outfits were models hired for the show, as were the mages with matching (and way outdated) outfits. Blizzard employees and family members (including wives and girlfriends) aren't eligible for any of the contests. So anyone pictured in costume up on stage was not hired for BlizzCon, or employed by Blizzard, or related to/married to/dating anyone employed by Blizzard. Anyone pictured out on the show floor might be an employee or family member, and anyone on the show floor looking horribly bored was a professional model hired to look hot. ;)

]]> <![CDATA[The BlizzCon Costume Contest Winner]]> This is a bit of an aside, because I can't see her face (which statistically speaking is the first feature men look at in women, breasts being of course second,) but how many of the "hot" cosplay girls at Blizzcon are actual WoW players and how many are girlfriends/Blizzard hirees? I'm not saying that hot girls don't play WoW, and I have no problem with guys bringing their girlfriends along with them. But there have been other conventions where companies hired hot chicks to pretend to be just one of the cosplay crowd.

On a side note, holy smokes how did she walk through doors? Sideways I take it aye? I really like what they've done to force the perspective so they appear to be gnomes based on the armor's dimensions.

All it is in-game is a blank robe design with a pattern painted on top of it. There is no actual dimension to it. That is why her costume is as good as it is. It most accurately depicts the outfit in-game.

There was another warlock there who I thought should have come in the top 4.. Basically what they did was choose 2 people from WoW, 1 from Diablo, and 1 from Starcraft. The WoW costumes were by far the best though, and I wish they had won.

As to the winner, I talked to her after the closing concert, and she was an amazingly nice person. She was telling everyone her game details and was just so happy to be there, just like the rest of us :).
