Never in the history of the franchise has the focus of the story been solely on one side. I feel that Blizzard was in a unique opportunity to add realistism and character to Horde characters, and instead is choosing to take the "easy" way out by making a Hollywood copycat of Braveheart and Gladiator.

Braveheart and Gladiator were great, but I think WoW is its own story, and following some kind of "Blockbuster success pattern" beacuse they think its too hard to tell a story from the Horde's point of view is a wasted opportunity. Blizzard has a chance to really make something great, and instead they are butchering their own classic cause their afraid to take a chance.

And as for Halo being unoriginal... What the hell isn't nowadays? There's nothing new under the sun. Everything take a little bit of something else and either expands upon it or screws it over. It's all just standing on the shoulder of giants (or rather,the shoulders of people that are standing on other people's shoulder, and so on and so on.)

Well making a full 3D feature film production is something that takes 3 to 4 years. I am guessing they want to release the film prior to that. Also, developing 3D and animation for a game is much different than developing it for a film. The Blizzard cinematics are simply inspiring, but they also use alot of short cuts that might not cut it in a feature film. the pipelines for each are completely different. I am sure the artists there have enough talent, but it might be biting off more than Blizzard crew could chew.

The "Reclaimer" has to go to the "Ark" where the "Forerunners" hid from the "Flood".

It's always been a huge religious parable with enough gunplay to distract from the heavy-handed mythologizing. Still, an eminently film-able franchise, though the art-style plagarism from Alien would probably require tweaking.

Metal Gear Solid, though, that's practically a movie already, you just need to trim the script a bit and put it to film.
