Blizz needs to stop releasing expansions and simply polish up on what they currently have now. TBC has only been around for about a year and they already plan on screwing us over again by making us replace our level 70 epics with level 80 greens? Wow, I don't even feel like playing anymore now because I know that all that hard work I put into raiding is going down the drain in a few months.

Actually, I expected most people to agree with me, especially based on previous comments on the other WoW topics. I wasn't trolling, I didn't want you fanboys to come out the cracks and claim I made no argument when I made a fine one (that's Internet Cliche #24356, by the way). Seems the other people sick of WoW's stagnation on the genre passed over this topic, so be it.

And you folks responding to me with such vitriol are obviously fanboys, so it's not immature to call you such.

After 2 years of playing this game, I quit some months after TBC came out.

One might ask: why?

PvE in this game was always restricted to the upper 5% of the game. While I'm sort of ok with that - having been in said "upper 5%" (aka: "hardcore raider") - there comes a time when players realize that the game is consuming more hours per day than everything else you do, including work or school. Work for 8 hours, play for 10, eat while playing, shower, sleep for 5 hours, and do it all over again. And heaven forbid you're an officer in a raiding guild because not only do you have to endure the excessive grinds, endless keying routines, but then you also have to manage the guild like a business. And for what? For some fake virtual loot that could easily disappear tomorrow if Blizzard decided, for some reason, to just shut down and say screw you guys?

Before TBC came out, Blizzard promised they were trying to make amends for the problem of so many people not able to do "end" content. They also claimed they "listened" to their player base and heard that we were tired of repgrinds. So they adjusted early 60s loot tables to try to even the playing field (which, again, I was fine with even though I knew a lot of raiders who went in-freaking-sane). But did they change the grinds? Hell no. They were there and they threw them right into your face, almost as soon as you got to Outlands.

More crappy key quest chains and, once again, the casuals were on the outside looking in at us raiders, despite the fact that Blizzard had said they were trying to make the game more casual friendly for end content.

If you're not keeping score, that's Blizzard's Lies: 2, Players: 0.

And that's just PvE.
What, ultimately, drove me away from the game was how Blizzard focused heavily on PvP, especially Arenas. Once sponsored Arena play got implemented, patches seemed mostly about balancing classes for PvP and little about PvE.

Why should I expect anything different from Blizzard this time around? I shouldn't. More of the same. PvE is going to take a sideseat to PvP, Blizzard will say whatever they want to try to keep their subscriber base while actually doing something else. MMOs are the ultimate bait and switch campaigns.

Fool me once Blizzard.. you won't have a chance to fool me again.

This isn't just a complaint about the current expansion, any long-time WC fan knows how much they've trashed the lore whilst creating this game and adding to it. Not progressing it as the clown above claims, going against the previous lore and then retconning (oddly enough the same commenter said the two things that contradict one another, dunno how he can stand the cognitive dissonance).

Some people have fun bouncing a ball against a wall for hours (oddly enough, about as involved and engaging as WoW), but I'm not going to not call them foolish just because "hey, they're having fun doing it". And I'm going to complain if them forking money over stagnates evolution in the genre, which hurt players like me who believe a game should be fun and not a second job.

And why do you assholes keep playing this? It's boring, and until people start leaving in droves there's going to be very little change in future MMOs (oh wow Warhammer Online is just WoW where PvP is central [which is how all MMOs should be], but the combat and interface are the same).
