What they don't seem to get is a lot of us don't have the time or the desire to worry about patches, compatibility issues, online cheaters, ongoing hardware upgrades or the other time-consuming and money-eating pitfalls of PC gaming.

I have a rockin' PC, but except for certain genres of games (like RTS titles or MMOs), it gathers dust. Given the choice between playing on a 21" monitor while sitting in a desk chair in front of a mouse and keyboard, or a 42" HDTV with my feet up on the coffee table and a wireless controller in hand, the latter wins every time.

Now, maybe YOU have a PC to end all PCs, or maybe YOU have your PC connected to your living room entertainment setup, or maybe YOU enjoy tweaking and upgrading your system as a hobby. And that's awesome. But guess what? You're in the minority. That's why PC games overall do a fraction of the business of console games.

Crapping on people who enjoy console gaming just shows your misguided faux elitism, and makes you sound, at best, like a whiny dork with too much time on your hands. But please keep it up, it's hilarious to watch.

I think Rein has said that he was sad they had to cut the Brumak fight to get the game finished, so I guess that means they've used the PC version as an excuse to finish things off.

You don't need the best of the best, especially not right now. Wait till at least September and then shoot for a mid to low end DX10 card. Maybe this is a trailer for the inevitable Gears of War 2? They did mention that the game was supposed to be a trilogy, and a huge boss battle with the monster we saw chasing us in GoW1 would make more sense to be fought in a sequel, rather than bolted onto the original game. Surely it'd ruin the continuity?

It seems unusually fast to see a AAA Xbox title ported to PC. Look at Halo 1 and 2. They took several years to make the transition from the original console version. I get a feeling this is Gears of War part 2, and that's why the video's been so hastily pulled.

Microsoft would be incredibly stupid not to bring as many Tripple-A 360 exclusive titles to the PC as possible. That means you can be sure to see Mass Effect, among other games, out on the PC as well.

Furthermore, Epic games has since it's inception been a PC developer only, hiring out talent like Digital Extremes to develop their previous console releases. Also, the Unreal 3 Engine was developed for PCs in the first place, and initial techdemos of the engine made use of Gears content. With Epic's long standing and well deserved reputation as a solid and extremely successful developer for the PC, it's only natural that their most successful title would see a PC release. The same goes for other companies that have long since been PC-developers, like Irrational Games (BioShock), BioWare (Mass Effect), etc, etc etc. This was not surprising, this was inevitable.

Epic had originally planned for Gears to be on PC from day one since they have such a strong PC following because of UT, but Microsoft wanted to really push some 360 consoles and if the game was on PC, that just wasn't going to happen. For instance, when you're running around and you "blind shoot", there's no crosshair...and the thumbstick (or mouse) is essentially just controlling the camera.
