Does everything Wii seem like a quick cash-in? Including first-party Nintendo games? The Wii has a 2 year lifespan, tops. Nintendo will release a REAL console faster than they can say, "Humiliation" and/or "exploitation." People thought that, for $250 ($50 more than the GameCube) they were buying a "next-gen" console. They thought wrong. And this short-lived Nintendo domination with the N64 graphics (no Wii game has added up to GameCube level graphics) will be, well, short-lived.
EA sucks, we all agree on that. if you're a true sports fan you are stuck buying the same game with almost the same graphics with new rosters year by year and that is just criminal.

As for the hair comments, I like the hair but it kinda looks like EA wants to merge with Square again. Square was very smart to leave, very.

jsin007

I thought EA had a casual games division. Is that not what POGO was? They even published a collection of POGO games on the DS if I recall correctly.

ah yes, yes they did. Pogo Island
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ds/pogoisland

But, yeah, it looks like the big new thing is that EA Casual's games will be based on other EA properties. I'll be interested to see how much they're willing to let this new division raid the existing IPs for content. They're going to basically have to figure out how to prevent, for example, Fifa Casual from competing with FIFA original.

NeilMcConnell

@xot: Uh everyone is getting tire of "casual games" at least everyone here. They are the ones that denigrate the games, not the name itself
I don't really mind them.
If you don't play it fine. Stop complaining about it. It doesn't effect and there are more hardcore games out there then anything casual. Let the market grow and give everyone a chance to play video games

totalwar23

I love the Wii, but EA can take their games and shove them up their ass. That's about as much use as I can seem to get from them.

I love that all "hardcore" games are becoming generic, copies with little imagination. Oh, wow, dragons and super soldiers you say? Woo.... I don't like the place "casual" games are headed, because to EA "casual" means crap.

Custom Reality

I love casual games... As long as they aren't mini game compilations. Although I favor "teh hardcore" games, the majority of them stave innovation.

Am I I the only one getting tired of the so called casual game? I don't mean the games themselves, I mean the moniker. It's seems an absurd name when studies have shown that "casual" gamers play longer and more often than "hardcore" gamers. It doesn't sound like there is anything casual about them at all. They are just popular and fun games. I'm starting to think the term "casual" is just an industry buzzword meant to denigrate simple yet fun games because big studios are frustrated by the fact that they can't seem to make a decent profit on their megabudget titles.

xot
