I've played CS for 5 years religiously and even got into cal-m. I've pretty much played every first person shooter out there, and trust me, there almost all different in their own ways.

So no, Halo is just not another "ordinary" shoother. There is not a single other sh ooter that has the unique feel of halo and its frustrating, competitive, easy to learn, neck and neck matches, then halo is for you. Granted, it can be like that in any game, but Halo just has a way to make those moments so memorable and fun, It's like a whole new experience.

@usedtabe: So, I'm a PS3 fan, and that's why I am dismissing Halo 3, eh? Not quite, as I until recently (though briefly) owned a 360 and was actually going to try to get into Halo 3.

I even said that the game was shaping up nicely in another post.

But one post after another regarding every detail (including the guest list) just seemed overkill, so I decided to take a jab and make a joke about it. If I had known that Kotaku-ites had such thin skin and exposed nerves, I would have shut my trap.

If someone had posted that as a comment here, everyone else would think they were being sarcastic. The "Sell Out" stamps on the Bungie logo are a hilarious touch. That site is the species of creature so absurd that any attempt to make a parody would only end up seeming reasonable in comparison.

There may be some valid criticism buried in the site, but the creators seem wholly irrational so I'll have a laugh and move on.

Second Life does the whole online community/world thing better than Home will I think but what is new about home is the ability to share content, and watch trailers/movies/videos streamed that and the fact that second life looks life crap now, Homes looking so Hawt.
Those will be its strongest features, if Sony can pull it off properly id be damn impressed.

Well home was something new, never done before and it was actually some shocking good news for Sony. Halo 3 however is nothing new, evryone new what it was gonna be before any shots were released (Personally I was expecting more)
When there has been countless posts JUST about the multiplayer, which really is failing to inspire me to get the game. I know there has only been news about the multiplayer but its fragging in my opinion, im not interested in the multiplayer after what ive seen, maybe if they serously add some stuff to it but meh, im looking forward to the single player

I like halo, so im not sony fanboying or anything, im just pissed that bungie is going so conservative, pissed that every news story aint showing anything new. Im fearing for the single player too...

Yeah, there are plenty of games coming for the 360, so thats not the reason for so much Halo news. I just got C&C 3, and Shadowrun comes out at the end of this month, while Two Worlds(a RPG) comes out next week if I remember correctly. Troll on!

Trust me, the 49ers didn't pay a dime to get in the event--publicists love to invite athletes to events like this because their presence generates additional media coverage. There were a couple of guys from the NY Giants at the Gears launch party here in NYC last year, and sure enough there were photos of them palling around with Peter Moore in the local tabbies the next day.

Truth be told, I wasn't here earlier in the week. I had family visiting, and they take up to much of my "me" time.

Even still, I have already said that it's not really your guys fault. This is big news in the gaming world (despite what individuals may feel about the series, it does have a huge built in audience,) combined with the fact there is little else going on right now.

It just swirls together into the perfect storm of "OMG HALO!!!" all over the internet. Kotaku is no exception to this world.

I heard Will Wright delayed "Spore" because aliens visited him and told him to cancel the project, because it came far to close to the truth of US being part of an intergalactic game of the same type.
