Lost Planet was a first for me. Usually, I pay attention to the Single player campaign moresom and the multi is just an afterthought. After playing the two demos, I was far more attracted to its multiplayer than its single-player.

JAcK0R

This is awesome news.

Since I don't own a 360 (or the Red Ring of Death), I've been wanting to see what all the commotion was about this game. And I get to test out DX10 on my eVGA superclocked 8800GTX! Can't get any better than that.

TyberZann

I've already read somewhere that Capcom increased the movement speed on the PC version of Lost Planet to compensate for the increased reticle speed - so that seems to indicate K/M control.

That said, this game controls beautifully on the 360 (once you customize the controls to your tastes). I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of cross-platform multiplayer - if ever there was a game in which I thought controller-equipped console-players may have a chance against mouse-equipped PC players, this is it.

n3ver

I kinda cant see how the game would be played other wise, if its not K + M. I mean sure they can do the Monster Hunter Frontier and have some weird controller, but thats just not gonna cut it.

Witzbold

@Geckosan: I don't think it's been absolutely confirmed, no. Capcom would be foolish not to do it, but then they already crossed that bridge with the flip-flop that was RE4.

Speaking of which, there's a consumer-made patch which enables mouse aiming, it enhances the experience. Of course, it would also be nice if the game was actually lit with anything other than dozens and dozens of ambient lights.

Atheist Jew

Has it definitely been confirmed that this game will use a mouse and keyboard combo?

I was expecting mouse aim in the PC version of resi4 but capcom dumped all those controls onto the keyboard, although that may have been to stop the game being to easy.

Geckosan

@Witzbold: Yeah, looking at his commenting activity, he's been pitching his crap for over a month now! I'm surprised it wasn't picked up on sooner. No worries, the proper action has been taken ;)

In regards to Lost Planet on the PC, it was inevitable. Thus is the beauty that Microsoft not only has a great console with great games on the market, but they also have a monopoly on operating systems! I think we'll see that just about every tripple-A title released for the 360 will see a PC release as well. It's practically gauranteed. I plan on picking up Mass Effect when it launches, but I have no doubt I'll have more fun with the PC release when it hits superior DX-10 enabled systems in a year or two. Gears of War will be equally enhanced in both control and aesthetics too. The only game I can't see being ported to the PC is Blue Dragon, but I might be wrong about that.

Atheist Jew

@Atheist Jew: Its about time someone else noticed him. ;D I tip my hat at you sir.

Back on track, I wonder why they decided to release this on PC also? In hopes of better penetration in the Asia market? Namely Korea? In anycase its good to see them trying to make more $$$ off of their product, and with how capcom has released their other hit titles on the PC, I guess we shouldnt really be too suprised that they were going to do this also.

Im thinking that the keyboard and mouse controls will make the game a little easy though, but thats just me.

MP should be a hell of a lot more frantic now with the M / K control scheme. So should be pretty interesting.

Witzbold
