Here's a REAL tip for you guys:

If you own the Monopoly card and many cards of single resource that everyone wants, agree to trade away that resource to the other players. Next, play the Monopoly card and steal back all of your traded away resource!

Be forewarned. The other players are going to absolutely hate you for doing this, causing them to possibly gang up against you and/or never trade with you again. ;)

superb game - the key to winning is by making sure you can recieve all 5 of the resource cards at the start of the game, with the highest possible resource total-- THEN connect your two settlements together and then aim for Cities, ports and development cards (monopoly is the best card))

The 3-D board is nice, but I prefer the original look of the old school table top version of the board. it's easier to see and. I just wish there was a 'pitch' option in the camera controls. That'd be my only request. I wanna see the board from a little more down-view.
I think the emotes are really cute too. =3 I played for 3 hours with a group of my FURRY XBL community friends. And got up in a haze after the session.

I've played the board games a few times and loved it. When I went to XBLA tonight, the demo was no longer there! I purchased it anyway since the graphics looked inviting. I'm very pleased with my purchase and it's well worth the $10. I played a game aginst the AI and had a 4 player online match as well. The game is excellent! The trading interface is intutive and doesn't require a headset. You can also send emotes to other players if you don't want to use a headset. All the info and game stats are easily accessable. I readily recommend this game to fans of Catan, and those who want to play a good board game on Live.

=( I am amoung those who was waiting for a demo. $10 that could be speant towards a different arcade game or saved up for a retail game is hard to spend without knowing if I'll like it. Maybe there was a glitch where you could play past the trial or something (like in saint's row)

The trade UI needs a bit of work - it's not intuitive at all. But once I got used to trading and how to navigate around the board, I really started enjoying it. In one game I was the Brick Czar. I had a 6-Brick surrounded with 1 settlement and 2 cities, one of which was sitting on a Brick port.

I just realized that it would take me about 5 pages to explain that all to those who don't know the game, so I'm not even going to bother trying :) For those on the fence, wait for the demo, but give the demo a chance if you've never played before. It's confusing, but it gets really fun once you get into it.

I got the demo before they pulled it as well, and I had never played the game before, convinced me to buy the game but both times I tried to play on Live the games dropped and I ended up playing against the computer...

I grabbed the demo early this morning before they took it down. It worked fine and convinced me that I should get the full title. Having never played it before, I found it really fun, which is a word I've never really put together with the concept of board games. The strategy involved is simple enough to not be overwhelming.
People on the fence would do well to wait for the demo. I'm pretty sure once you try it you'll like it as well.

I honestly think the demo is going to be the turning point on whether or not anyone actually downloads this game. I'm certainly not going to pay for it. I'm interested, but Xbox Live charges way too much for downloads.

I haven't even heard of Catan before I started seeing you guys posting about it. I need a demo!

I've played a few rounds of this with friends and always won. The trick is to set yourself up next to a sheep trading post (or brick, if you prefer) and then put your other settlements near fields that give you sheep. This way, you get lots of sheep, which you can exchange (without having to trade and benefit others) and you become a go-to guy to trade up other peoples cards, which you can ask to do by them including another card you need in the process.
