Ugh. Same old white-beige like every other company. Bring back the brown and tan, maybe with ascii codes on the front of the keys.

Sadly, nothing to do with the Commodore from days of old.

Kuromimi

What gamers need: A shower.

What gamers want: Money-grubbing asshats to stop pretending to revive Commodore by sticking the logo (which they probably bought rights for 20p) on random shitty computers / dvd players / razors / toilet paper.

Amiga was great. If Commodore the company was coming back? With the same technical staff somehow miraculously regrouped after having been working in other places for decades? That'd be interesting. Commodore the brand name? Utter bollocks.

quen

What's with you American biatches harping on about the C64. They also made the Amiga, one of the greatest home unit gaming machines ever.
True, Commodore were a sucky company but they had a great product in the Amiga and it had an amazing community, many of whome are rampaging thorugh the console and pc gaming world today.
Biatches standing on the shoulders of giants should show some goldarn respek, nat a meen?

Poita

I will say this for Commodore; the C 64 I inherited from my grandfather still works perfectly.

512k RAM module upgrade (1/4 the size of the whole unit), GEOS operating system and Pools of f'n Radiance FTW.

and as Marlor said an old school hack-away system would be awesome but somehow I think this is just going to be more badge-slapping by the Commodore kids... Sorry old schoolers, probably best to put your hopes back in the drawer with your nostalgia.

Ca1amity

I'd like to see a gaming PC that had the same principles as the original Commodore: hackability and a simple mechanism to store the initial state after you screw up.

The best thing about the Commodore as a PC was that you could POKE around with it all you wanted, but it was virtually impossible to mess it up, since you could just restore the initial state with a flick of a switch.

It would be nice to see someone try to attempt a similar thing again. A system that has the best aspects of both PCs and consoles.

Marlor

"Which is ..." a girlfriend?

I think this Commodore thing could be do well, thanks to the nostalgia factor. I know it's been totally turning my crank, based on nothing but the name and logo. They'll really need to capitalize off of the whole nostalgia thing for it to fly, though. Then again, just calling it a "Commodore" is a good indication that's already exactly what they're doing.
