Well I don't really care about the contest yeah I'd love to go to Tok with a friend but you know just hanging out with my friends is enough for me doesn't matter where we are I have a blast, which brings up my story, I've always used Axe Body Spray cause that's just how I roll and I was like hey I'll try something new so I'm at the store with my friend and my sister, and I'm like well I kinda like Old Spice so I pick it up and smell it and to me smells pretty dang good, so I ask my sister to smell it just for referance and I go like it? and she states "Ugh yeah if you want to smell like an 80 year old man", and omg we just all started crying laughing, so my friend is over later the day and so is my girl, and well me and her go off to do some stuff and right before we start having sex she whispers in my ear "You know you smell like an 80 year old man" And I was like what the hell?! and she told me my friend said to tell me that LOL, it was great, so yeah Tokyo I'll go and you could probably have a daytime sitcom about what my friend and I do over there, but yeah Old Spice the name says it all, like who it is made for...lol

The GD-ROM is actually physically a CD-ROM that Sega did some tricky-shit-voodoo-magic on to bump its capacity to 1 GB. It's one of the reasons why people could pirate games on standard blank CDs and help ultimately bring down Dreamcast.

Thomas C, the voting is supposed to lead to a results screen. If you chose right, that results screen will inform you that you chose correctly and ask for your e-mail. Once you submit your e-mail, that's how they keep track of who voted. Only one entry will be taken per e-mail adress, so no sense in voting multiple times.

Now as I and others have found out, Internet Explorer (6 and 7, based on Evilmax's report) don't work correctly with the poll. An error results and the page just refreshes back to the voting selection instead of taking you to the results.

Without taking you to the results, you can't enter your e-mail. If you can't enter your e-mail, you can't win. I've posted a link previously in this topic, and I'll make it a third time: http://polls.gawker.com/poll.js.php?key==IjNyMTM

Follow this link and you'll be taken to the poll's origin, and in Internet Explorer it's currently the only way to vote.

I've emailed Crecente about it, given that he was quick to fix it originally, but I'm guessing he's busy with other projects at the moment or just hasn't come up with a solution.

Evilmax17, that's what I figured, given that the basic IE structure didn't change much from 6 to 7.

You can go and find the link that I posted (twice) above, that should work for you like it was with IE7 users. It's the same poll, just not scripted to be displayed through Kotaku, so it should still function just as easily.

Hopefully, despite the lack of response from their end, they've acknowledged the problem and will have either this or the next two polls fixed soon.

If you vote from the main page in IE7 it sometimes gives me a 404 error, and if you vote from this specific page in IE7, the URL adds an "&error" number sequence once the page reloads after you hit "Vote."

I've found the major bug in this (and notified Crecente, if anyone's wondering). Essentially, this poll appears to be broken with IE7. In my Firefox browser it worked without a hitch. Given the popularity of Firefox, that would explain why so many appear to have gotten the e-mail field where many others haven't.

In IE7 the link I provided will still work though, so it's a workaround until (if?) they get it fixed this time, and hopefully the source won't need to be examined for the next poll.

If you got the e-mail field on the main Kotaku page with IE7, feel free to post so and disprove me, 'cause I'd hate for this to keep some people from going to Japan 'cause I sent Kotaku barking up the wrong tree.

I'm not sure it's totally fixed Crecente - when I followed the link I found in the source (and subsequently posted), I answered once and any later visits to that link resulted in just seeing the results. Now that you've got the poll showing, I can seemingly answer it as many times as I want without ever being forced to view the results - which I'm sure will definitely throw things off.
