Optimistic Prime,
I am always talking about how much it amazes me about how slow computers and consoles are to boot up. Getting the Wii to the point where I can read the mail is ridiculously slow. I have no idea if the 360 or PS3 are that slow, but I wonder why it is "always on" if waking it up takes so long. At least I don't have to wait for 5-10 minutes inbetween games for the game to reset as I did with the Vic-20 and Amiga, but the bootups on computers are still way too slow.

I have an unused PIII that I got when I was building a computer, but I ended up buying a Compaq. At least I was able to use the memory that I bought at the same time to triple the memory on my wife's computer.

kingofallcosmos

I laughed when I bought my Dell Axim a couple of years ago because it was three times as fast and cost half as much as my first computer did in '98... I'm just amazed how far technology has come, and yet it still take 10 minutes to boot up the damned computer...

Optimistic Prime

The New Tetris is still a staple multiplayer game around my place. Also one of the only N64 games to use the D Pad (and hence, have access to the L button)!

dowingba

I still use my PIII 500mhz computer to this day. mostly because I'm too cheap and lazy to get a new desktop. I have a laptop though that I also use daily which I bought a year ago.

and last weekend I played a bunch of old N64 games (mostly Goldeneye) with a friend. my N64 still looks like it's brand new despite my countless hours of play

Five Element Ninja

Altered -

My days at Funcoland/Gamestop were riddled with little adventures such as that. Thats were I got my first Black Dreamcast, Sega CD and many other odds and ends. We could always afford to pay cash because even when offering a few bucks over the trade in value it was never very much.

The day I became a knight was when a little kid brought in a "omega-rare" English version of the Dragonball Z fighting game for PS1. It was covered in stickers and scratched to hell, he had no clue the trade in value was $85.00. I was moments away from lying to him and offering him a few dollars for it and my soul got the best of me, I had the disk professionally cleaned next door and gave him his $85.00 in credit. He didn't want to keep it and I couldn't afford it once it had hit our shelves.

During the 2 weeks I worked at a Gamestop, some nice woman traded hin her son's N64. It was Grape, in the box, with all the plastic and foam and paperwork. Very nice. It even had the expansion pack installed. We bought it off of her, then I turned around and bought it from the store. I eventually sold it for a decent ammount on eBay.
...Its a shame they never released the original SNES'S smoke stained yellowish colors.

Seriously though, seeing that purple N64 reminds me of a more simple time for gaming. A time when a young Vindicated could play Pilot Wings for hours on end, and marvel at the sense of speed produced by Extreme G.
