Sorry Connortreacy

I'd bet nintendo gets this one if any one does. This is a new game and ikarugi was the last great shoot-emup. This won't be a 10 dollar download this will be a Metal gear 49-39 dollar purchase if not more if it's not ported to a current console. I could see this one working alot better on the wii.

Man I love games like this and I hope more games like this come out on the Wii as offical games 2d is not dead! Now where is a good beat em up? like double dragon2 on the nes or some thing?

Runna

wow that looks amazingly good. this is... the kind of game i've been wanting, but could never get, because i didn't know what it was. Now to buy a cheap old dreamcast....

i think a new dreamcast might do pretty well. Hype it up enough like the wii and ps3, and there might even be fights and shootings, which makes it intense, and makes people want it more. like the.... dreamscape. no that's lame, something new. They could make a whole new powerstone, and some kick ass sonic games. Buy back sega!!!!

cmoody17

It's lucky they can still release games on the Dreamcast, as otherwise you'd probably not see this on a home machine. It runs on Naomi hardware in the arcades, and as such the porting cost is minimal compared to rewriting it for another architecture. They probably wouldn't sell enough on the PS2 to warrant the cost.

I think there's another on the way too - sequel to Radilgy. As long as the Naomi continues to survive, the ports are likely to keep coming to the Dreamcast.

system11

I still have my Dreamcast in a cupboard. I kept it just in case they ever released Shenmue 3 on it.

Still, according to someone at Sega, Shenmue 3 is finshed and just needs porting to a next-gen console, the 360 being the most likely candidate, although Yu Suzuki has since said development on it has been halted for the time being.

I think its fair to say the DC was the most fun console I ever owned (Quake III rocked on it)!

dcuk7

It actually came out in 1999 (9/9/99...what an awesome launch date!) so by all accounts it's 7 years old which isn't much older than PS2, so in all fairness I hardly see the age comparison there. That being said, I love the fact that new Dreamcast games are being developed :) Any idea if they're coming out here in the US? I doubt it...but that'd be awesome!

I remember they did this with the Sega Saturn too, they released a new Saturn game in freaking 2001!

ponlork

Up until the last boss, I thought that, finally, I found a shooter I have a reasonable chance with.

Goldrush

How can you say that you should just let the dreamcast die? If they were still making SNES games, are you saying that you wouldnt want it? Eather way, I LOVE my dreamcast, I am always excited to new games for it. I would also like to see Sega make a console comeback! But, I'll keep dreaming.

Cornerb0y

Hey now, that's harsh. There's nothing wrong with the dreamcast. It just needs a little love, is all.

That game looks awesome. It's got 2-d gameplay, the shooter aesthetic, and man oh man, I love that synth heavy music (very nostalgic, reminds me of Mega Man X)

I'll need to hunt down a few of these gems, so my import-bootdisc won't simply be my "Shenmue II" Bootdisc.

PTTSeven

I think this just shows the lasting power of the system. It was FAR better than the PS2, it just got beat down when the piracy went mainstream.

Sega did it right. It just didn't get the respect it deserved.

brywalker
