"The code is as polished as you can make it on a no-hard-drive console like the PS2. So, there are technical limitations that people just can't understand."

If you're reading this, Mr. Ecko, I'd like to point out that just because YOU can't understand the technical limitations involved does not mean that gamers can't either. Actually, I, for one, do understand the technical limitations of the PS2.

Also, blaming your game's slow sales and mixed reviews on anything besides the game's lack of quality just makes you look like a jerk trying to muscle your way into an industry you don't truly understand.
Dude of the Millenium

It's funny how there is so many biased opinions here. Have any of you actually played the game? Don't knock it just because its by Marc Echo or just because its a game about tagging. If I were to go by that logic, I would've not bought Guitar Hero then since I listen to hip-hop most of the time.

Also, you can say that GTA is urban but that is not why it sold so many copies. It sold because it had the Grand Theft Auto name slapped on it. If the game would've just been called San Andreas and made by another company it probably would've been "just another urban type" game.
John Oaks

BAd reviews aside, I was genuinely interested in this game until i saw what the fighting system turned into. Though, the tagging element and finding the places to tag still looks interesting to me. I wouldn't play the race card Marc, just dont let Infogrames/Atari publish your work next time.

On a personal note I thought GTA:SA was rubbish. As a person of color I found it very insulting that the whole "south central L.A." theme and something that showcases negativity could be the basis of a videogame programmed, designed, written by, and marketed by white people.

Sure.. thats a big dose of prejudice right there, and I know you cant make the industry not 80% white males overnight, bit pre-ruined the game for me.

I think racial stereotyping is bad, and it really shouldn't be the basis for someone's amusement, in any form. Comedy, music, games, literature, art...racism and prejudice isn't funny.
Ganguro

It initially looked like he was trying to play on African American vs Korean friction, but I dismissed it and gave the dude the benefit of doubt. Well, if Ecko wants to paint every video game player that doesn't want to with a broad brush, then I'm going back to thinking he is weird prejudiced metro dude trying unsuccessfully play the race card.
bottleknife

Making an urban game is all about getting a certin feel and atracting a certin audience. If people like myself don't like said feel then it would take some great gameplay to trancend that. According to the reviews I've seen this game simply dosn't provide that. They would have been better to port jet grind radio to all systems and dress beat and company in ecko clothes, because I would have bought that.
D
