Yesterday we reported that Sierra's Geometry Wars: Galaxies for the Nintendo DS and Wii had been pushed back to January 18th, 2008, and to a certain extent it was true - but only for Europe. Galaxies is still on track for the Wii release on the 20th and the DS release a week later in North America according to Sierra, who dropped us a line last night to clear things up. FIFA Demo Hits Live, Misses Europe

Two new demos popped up on Xbox Live early this morning, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, which I will talk about a little later, and FIFA 08, the latest installment of EA's annual soccer title. The 702MB demo is now available in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States. Good thing there aren't any soccer fans in Europe, huh? They can wait a bit then, right Larry?

EA has told me this demo is coming to Europe 'very soon'. The moment it is released in Europe I will make a post. I don't know the exact date.

NYT: EA Owns Ubisoft

It might be news to Electronic Arts, it might be news to Ubisoft, but it's definitely news inside today's New York Times. In a rather bland look at the tiff forming around the frame-per-seconds of Madden on the PS3 and the Xbox 360, the New York Times mentions a handful of games that are getting delayed for the Playstation 3 as a possible sign that developers are having problems with Sony's hardware. The story's last example is Ghost Recon II which , according to the story, "is made by Ubisoft, which in turn is owned by Electronic Arts." Ouch, somebody better alert France. More »

Sony: Apple Logo Was a Mistake

Turns out that Sony isn't in bed with Apple after all. Sony never explains exactly how the Apple logo popped up on their site, saying only that it was an external error. My theory is that the person who put together the flash movie for Sony's U.S. Playstation 3 site decided to get around creating or paying for stock smoke footage by nabbing it from another ad. I think the smoke billowing down on the top of the PS3 and the Apple logo both come from an advertisement created for Apple. More »
