Jake over on 8Bit Joystick writes that he recently filled up his Wii. That is to say after purchasing The Legend of Zelda II for NES and Ordyne for TurboGrafx 16 on the Virtual Console he maxes out the VC games he can display on his Wii menu.
If you aren't an ardent purchaser of VC games you might not realize that the Wii channel slots for the VC games you purchase are actually limited to a set number. Jake not only filled all of the channels where he can display games, he also nearly filled up the 512 Megs of storage memory on his console.
The problem for Jake now is that if he wants to buy more games he has to save the old ones to an SD and then delete them from his system. While this may not be an issue you have, it could become one, especially with the NeoGeo games headed to the Wii. Each of those bad boys can suck up more than 100 Megs of space on your console.
Jake's hoping a future system update will allow gamers to play VC games off of an SD card and perhaps let you use the USB ports to plug in an external harddrive. Both good calls, if you ask me.
