X-Play is a shitty show. The horrible skits and parody shit they do is childish, stupid and insulting to any intelligent viewer.
First they cut the show to a half-hour, now they cut it to 3 days a week. By next year, no one will even care anymore and it will be replaced with some other amateur, shitty show that no intelligent person cares about.
This sounds like a move G4 would make. Yeah let's cut back on X-Play one of the only two decent shows we have and run more of the Man Show, Eating Contests, and episodes of Cops from the 1980's. Brilliant, just brilliant.
@eddienoteddy: I thought about marrying Morgan Webb but then realized I should probably show more interest in women I know nevertheless, she's still a huge turn-on for me (and intelligent to boot) :3 I can't say that for many women in front of the camera and more so for the guys in front of the camera. X-Play has an amazing crew... here's to hoping they don't break the formula.
Amanda, beautiful name. I always tried to figure what what the A meant. Here's a tip, AJ, why not use Amanda Glasser from now on? Sounds good! You don't need to do the JK Rowling thing forever you know! :)
@lucasreis: But I *like* AJ - I was dubbed thus by my 10th grade English teacher and it just sorta stuck whenever I was writing.
Also - be honest now - isn't it easier to forget that I'm a girl when the byline says "AJ". I want to be judged on the quality of my writing with absolutely NO thought given to my gender. Alas, I think that's impossible to achieve with a giant red flag like AMANDA in the byline.
Wasn't it common knowledge before that you were a girl? I mean I think I even remember you saying it in one of your posts and a lot of commenters condemning you for your hands-on previews because you were one.
Oh and Crecente shuffling you to preview the Barbie and other girl games was always a dead giveaway...I kid! =D
Hmm I seem to remember seeing your pic you with glasses and all geeky like with curled up hair...
I saw it when it actually aired the first time. Nice appearance AJ. I'm curious though. Were you having trouble hearing Adam? Because you kept jumping in to answer every question, even when the question wasn't for you. This seems to happen a lot in these X-play Adam Sessler interviews.
@Orionsaint: I think I did it only twice - and yes, I couldn't hear him over the sound of the B-roll in the background. He said later that he was having trouble hearing me, but since he didn't act like it I'm guessing he wasn't even listen. Or he's a really good actor :p
nice to see a female face representing Kotaku, although for some reason i expected you to look different. i blame the AJ from "My So-Called Life." (extreme apologies.)
unfortunately the whole media vs. games thing is becoming pretty tired to me. MSM frowns upon games, yes, we know. and it's good to maybe check in with every once in a while, to see if any attitudes have changed. but even in a positive light, gaming is one of those things i never expect MSM to "get," cringing whenever i see a story on TV or in a newspaper. we're just too damn niche. that's why i have you guys. everything else can basically go fuck itself.

Now, we just need confirmation on Crecente. No man has hair that perfect. NO MAN.

Apparently, it is. A lot of people refer to AJ as a "he"...
And they'll probably miss this article, and keep doing so...
I guess it's based on two things:
1) Initials are gender-neutral.
2) The stereotype of how only guys play video games.
You put one and two together and you get... well, three.

Honestly, initials really aren't that gender-neutral, at least in the US.
I have yet to meet a single female who goes by their initials, it's pretty much a male only thing.
Plus the only AJ I've ever known was a crazy Alpha-Male Sports fanatic. So maybe the specific initials "AJ" resonates with my subconscious.
