I have NO problem with the instruments, since the goal of those games is to get you as close as possible to the real thing. And part of the fun of the games IS the fact that you have plastic representatives of instruments.
But wrestling games, boxing games, skating games...there's certain real life things that just don't translate well to controller form.
I am perfectly content with my controller, instruments, and a gun controller. MAYBE a driving wheel...though those are frequently cumbersome and require your furniture to be perfectly balanced so that the wheel can sit at the right height while the pedals are on the floor.
@Nudgenudge: Kotick never ceases to amaze me. Irony, contradiction, redundance, annoyingness: the man isn't afraid of anything. I'm sure he wrestles bears on the week-end.
How else do you get the supreme fearlessness to be so oblivious to the words that are coming out of your own fucking mouth !
almost every publisher's going to make their own peripheral?
why not use existing technology like PS3/360 camera, Wii Motion Plus, Wii Fit board, Rock Band/Guitar Hero drums, mic, and guitars, upcoming PS3 motion controller, upcoming MS Natal, Tony Hawk Ride board, DJ Hero controller, Namco's Guncon 2, and possibly bring back Steel Battalion controller?
@icepick314: Well, to answer your secong question, the reason why developers are making their own peripherals instead of using existing technology is because they are willing to brand their own peripherals for the sake of making money for themselves. It's a shame that making more peripherals just add to the pile...
Wow! Nice character list! This has been the first time I'm marginally interested in a wrestling game. I stopped caring after trying THQ's games...It left a bitter taste. Yeah I'm an AKI fan. =)
Wrestlemania 2000 is still the best wrestling game I've ever played...Though I admit this is intrigues me. For the nostalgia factor and all that.
@Ashkihyena:Razor's likely not on there due to his ship jumping hijinks plus the fact that the man is a infamous lush of epic levels.
@Ashkihyena:Unproven or not, Vince has tons of reasons for keeping Randy out, so molesting Steph is just one mark against him, though given that she's got a huge say in day to day stuff, if he did mess with her, I doubt she would want to give him anything that would result in him getting a dime.
@SanjiX:He killed his wife and child, there's no way he could be kept around.
@Despacio:Steamboat was a wife beater, he's not going to be in anything if they can help it.
@Ashkihyena:The wife beating stuff against Steve Austin came out right in the middle of him and Debra breaking up, plus Steve pretty much saved WWE's ass during the Monday Night Wars, along with DX and the Rock.
Ricky is a whole other pot of fish. As for Razor, he caused Vince huge, huge, huge headaches. Wrestling promoters have and will always remember for good or bad what their workers do for/against them.
I know they want to get the "best" wrestlers on the list, but shouldn't Tito Santana be included, just for the fact that he was the perennial Wrestlemania whipping boy for the first 10 installments?
I would say Chris Benoit, but we know what happened to him. Despite him being a "monster" as Vince McMahon said, he was at least a good wrestler. To bad he was literally erased from WWF/E existence.
@SanjiX: It's nothing but Vince covering his own ass. Cut off ties with him, deny any knowledge of his drug use/other problems. And WWE keeps on chuggin'...

WHAT. This from the dude with 8 peripheral-based games this year, including two new controllers (Tony Hawk, DJ Hero)?!
I'm... in awe. This is the apex of "do as I tell, not as I do".
