Do you best not to get too excited about the prospect, please.

Last year's Wipeout Pulse may be the latest to jump from the PSP's wee screen to whatever the PlayStation 2 may be connected to, as a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe — more precisely, the Benelux region — release list pegs the port for a February release in the region.

None too surprising, as previously PSP-only titles like Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters have made the transition.

The release date list also schedules the cutesy PlayStation Network strategy game Fat Princess for March. We'd suggest not penciling that one in quite yet, as your region's release date my vary. For the full, rumored release list, read on.

<![CDATA[Wipeout Pulse Boosts To PSPs]]> The follow-up to PSP racer Wipeout Pure arrives in North America today, says the official PlayStation blog. Wipeout Pulse—aka wipEout PULSE, if you're a capitalization fetishist—looks to not just toss out a new collection of tracks and pretty lights, it brings proper infrastructure online racing to the PSP, with the promise of downloadable content in the future. Europeans are already enjoying Wipeout Pulse DLC, meaning it can't be too far off.

I just checked the United States version of the PC PlayStation Store and didn't see Pulse turn up. While you wait, make sure to get caught up on the newest Wipeout courtesy of Liverpudlian producer Paul Tweedle's blog.

<![CDATA[Week in Games: Professor Layton and the Curious Villiage Edition]]> Nice little collection of titles coming out this week. My money is on Professor Layton although Lost Odyssey seems rather intriguing. On the PC side of things, the new episode of Sam and Max is on its way as well as a new version of RPG Maker. <![CDATA[Wipeout HD By End Of 2007]]> 1UP is reporting that Wipeout Pulse game director Tony Buckley has revealed that Wipeout HD, a PlayStation Network title, should make an appearance on the PLAYSTATION 3 before calendar year 2008. That's just about the worst kept secret on the Sony front, as Buckley was dropping none-too-subtle hints about how "stonking" a PS3-bound Wipeout in high definition would be just days ago to Kikizo.

This is, of course, a separate product from the "real" Wipeout sequel for the PS3, which is said to be announced in August. I'm guessing probably August 23rd. Possibly in the Leipzig region.

While I'm personally a casual fan of the Wipeout series and would look forward to the online multiplayer-ready futuristic racer, I'm starting to see a trend here. Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Wipeout HD, SOCOM Confrontation—all stopgap releases while we wait for the real new-gen iterations. Shit, there I go, complaining about PS3 releases again. Really need to put a cork in that.

<![CDATA[Wipeout Pulse Revealed For PSP]]> One of the PSP's best original titles, Wipeout Pure, is getting a proper sequel from Sony Liverpool. Successor Wipeout Pulse not just a collection of new tracks—although there are 24 promised—but a one-up in nearly every way.

Online racing, photo mode, even a new track element called the "Mag-Strip" let's racers perform seemingly impossible feats like loops and pure vertical drops by locking onto the track. Wait, didn't F-Zero GX do this? Oh, we won't nitpick!

The game doesn't hit PSPs until September, so you'll have to comfort yourself with the newly released screens over at Eurogamer.
