There's also room for degradation. While Microsoft tries to speed up and tweak other OS-related processes, they can still make game FPS get lower instead of higher. It's not like they're building the OS specifically with gaming in mind, especially if they're in the mindset that PC gaming is a dying trend.

There is no way they can get 31FPS on Very High with AA at that resolution and that low-end computer. What a git.
Take a look here. With an 8800GTS-512MB (which is a better card than GTS-640MB due to the G92 core) and 4xAA at just 1280x1024 resolution, you get TWELVE FPS.

Their benchmark shows even dual GPU cards like the 4870X2 outperform what it can really achieve, and it would make the GTX295 literally overpowered if this were true.

And if you didn't notice, I'm talking mostly about the numbers for the low end spec.
A Core2Duo 3.3GHZ is much more powerful than the AMD listed there.

How anyone can call Crysis mediocre is completely beyond me. Gee, an almost open-world FPS with huge levels, great AI, and the best graphics ever. Yeah, that game sure was mediocre.
Sound to me like someone's PC couldn't run the game.

Okay, I want you to name one game that has never had random AI shit happen that's funny or stupid. Better yet, name five fps games with better AI (especially over huge, open levels).
There's Halo AI, Crysis AI, STALKER AI, and FEAR AI (maybe, maybe Gears of War, but it's 3rd person). That's about it as far as good FPS AI.
