Gadgets, blenders, blending, poisonous smoke. Think two Wii Remotes can withstand the fury of a Blendtec blender? Answer, after a strangely gratifying 1:21, above.

<![CDATA[ Microsoft Spins June NPD Sales ]]> With Nintendo and Activision stealing headlines based on their respective June NPD sales performances, Microsoft wants to make sure you don't miss out on some carefully spun facts. For instance, did you know that in June the company sold 197,000 Xbox 360 consoles - "40,000 units more than we sold last month." And did you realize that "three of the top 10 games in June were Xbox 360 games or exclusives"? Okay, one exclusive. It's arguably the least sexy spin I've seen yet!

What is impressive is that the Xbox 360's attach rate remains as high as ever—6.1 games and 3.2 accessories sold per console—with some 20.1 million games sold since its competitors launched, a number sure to explode with this fall's upcoming releases like Halo 3, Blue Dragon and Mass Effect.

All that said, where Microsoft really needs to invest is in some PowerPoint presentation design. My eyes are weeping pus from trying to decipher that green monstrosity.
