The Godfather: Blackhand Edition - 28 hours, 52 minutes

Does anyone know how this performed at retail? I remember it doing well critically, but my theory is that the hype surrounding the "Wii phenomenon" lead to the game being overlooked.

    Boogie Superstar - 11 hours, 21 minutes
    Boogie - 7 hours, 43 minutes

    Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy?

Quantum of Solace - 16 hours, 20 minutes

Hmm. I was under the impression that this was a hot mess. Perhaps those with less discerning (and less cynical?) tastes had a lot of fun with it.

But only 4 players in a competitive online multiplayer shooter? Yikes.

    NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 - 4 hours, 56 minutes

I would have never guessed that this would have been played enough to be tracked. #wiistatsreport

it's nice to see that Wii gamers are, in fact, not the morons so many around here keep insisting they are.

I hate the terminology, but for the sake of getting my point across: note the more "casual" games towards the bottom and more "hardcore" games towards the top. the exceptions being any Guitar/Rock/Band/Hero game which, though I've never understood it, somehow passes the for "hardcore" in the eyes of many a drunk, frat-boy, gamer. #wiistatsreport

Activision may want to worry a little about the huge drop-off between the top and middle tiers.

They go straight from 35 hours down to 17. There is absolutely no middle ground with them. Apparently their games are either good, or they completely suck. The problem is that the "they must be good" list only has 3 games in it.... #wiistatsreport

I keep hearing stories about how Viacom is disappointed in Rock Band sales, but all the signs point to GREAT SUCCESS, so I guess I shouldn't be so worried. =]

@The Anti-Fanboy: This list says nothing about how well the game sold. It's just the amount of time the average gamer played it for. One person could have bought it and played it for 45 hours for all we know. #wiistatsreport

@WhiskeyJak: Keep in mind that not all consumers are sharing their data on the Nintendo Channel. Many of them likely do not know that the channel even exists, for that matter. New owners coming in en masse could drag down the raw average, too.

On the flipside, though, the game has sold 1.8 million units worldwide, and at least 500,000 units of that number is in the US. One would expect the total usage time to be a bit higher. #wiistatsreport

Think it'll ever again NOT be Brawl? I was honestly pretty underwhelmed with it, as a day 1 buyer. Part of the reason I no longer own a Wii.

How did the online mode turn out? At the beginning it was TERRIBLY laggy (unplayable) and the team matches were pretty awful as well (I forget what it was, but something like you could only play with a friend sharing the same console online, if you were playing with someone on your friends list who ALSO had 2 people on their console--what a terrible system)

I haven't heard anything about it since then though--does it work better now?

@TuxBobble: I sold my Wii in September and tried Brawl one last time and the With Anyone online was still too sketchy to be playable.

I personally thought Brawl was, all in all, a disappointment. It was basically Melee stuffed with a bunch of pointless filler content. The only thing I genuinely enjoyed was the Subspace Emissary (it definitely had its flaws, but in my opinion it gets way more hate than it deserves), but everything else ranged from "meh" to "bad". Most of the new characters were unbalanced and we still got pointless clones. Apart from that, the actual gameplay is essentially the same except for a couple of tweaks, but that's hardly an excuse to release a sequel. Melee added directional throws, side-B attacks, charging Smashes, and dodging among other things, all of which really changed the way you played Smash Bros, but Brawl had nothing of the sort. Just a bunch of tweaks and little additions that at the end of the day didn't make any lasting impression on the series.

Brawl being a major disappointment was a large factor in why I sold my console. I haven't missed it since and I probably won't. If I have a craving to play Smash again I'll just play Melee, seeing as it's pretty much the exact same thing. #wiistatsreport

@TuxBobble: I try to play online every few months. It still doesn't work. For me, it only worked at 3 AM in the morning after launch night, before the servers became crowded. It's strange, because Mario Kart Wii works like a dream for me. Brawl? Not so much. #wiistatsreport

@mintycrys is HOT for Bayonetta: this is weird. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for me to find a match, but I don't feel like I've ever had a problem brawling "anyone" online.

@TuxBobble: Online connections have stabilized for the most part, but I think that is due to less people playing online moreso than anything done on Nintendo's part.

The larger problem is mentally preparing yourself for the luck of the draw found in random games. One must hope that the stars align so that a lag and grief-free time is had by all.

(Yes, there is griefing in online Brawl. For example, choose Kirby and spam his "HIII!" taunt, or keep pressing down over and over again to trigger his 'squishing' sound.) #wiistatsreport

@mintycrys is HOT for Bayonetta: Wow, I can honestly say that I've never gotten an error code. Maybe we're playing at different times, or maybe Nintendo's network works differently in different geographic areas.

My waits for Mario Kart aren't huge, but they're definitely noticable. No real problems playing, but I have to invest some time to get in. #wiistatsreport

@Stephen Totilo: Quite possible--it's just a matter of whether Animal Crossing's appeal will continue to increase or not.

Based on the STYLE of gameplay, it's a much easier game to pick up for a few minutes at a time. (If it's anything like the previous AC, that is--I haven't played the Wii version)

If anything, I suppose I could see it peaking over Brawl around Christmas time, but for hours per gamer, I think AC will top out at some point, due to being more casual in nature.

You are right though--on its current trend it definitely has the potential. I guess I just don't see it as a game with the same "staying power" as Brawl, in terms of hours or sessions. #wiistatsreport

VC? Hell, even WiiWare has that FF4 sequel. There's more good rpg ports on the wii than originals, sadly.
