@WhiteMåge: I always used to get board games as gifts, which I loved, but nobody else in the family ever wanted to play them, so mostly they clogged up a shelf. Thankfully, as a geeky adult it's much easier to find people to play obscure board games with you.
@Psychopathic Assassin: Nope, I've been to about a dozen of these, the smaller ones, mainly. They all had arcades. Actually, I remember the malls for what their arcades had, if anything at all.
WiiFit is part of that subgroup of exercise products whose purpose is not actually to make people fit, but rather to make fat moms feel better about themselves. It's in the same genre as those iPhone apps that give you credit for 200 calories if you cleaned the house for an hour, so that you'll feel entitled to eat an enormous piece of sweet, delicious cake.
Maybe WiiFitPlus is better, but I still don't see how anything you can do with just a balance board will make you fit. I assume they try it for a few weeks, it accomplishes nothing, and then they throw it in a closet with all the other gimmick fitness products they bought over the years. And then they eat a piece of sweet, delicious cake. #wiifitplus
One is more of a game, the other is well more of an exercise over a game. Pretty sure when you tell people there's exercise involved they'd do it only the x hours they want to exercise. #wiifitplus
Also, if news about games like New SMB Wii, SMG2, Metroid: Other M and a new Zelda don't excite you, a Nintendo console might not be the smartest choice for you.
I had a big rant typed out, but it was getting unfocused and overly long so I decided to shorten it.
You fuckers need to stop whining about everything. The comments on this site are full of cry-babies and elitists with huge chips on their shoulders and an undeserved sense of entitlement when it comes to these companies.
So many of you act like they owe you something personally. You're CONSUMERS, and games are PRODUCTS. In other words, they'll always want your money, and if you really wanna make a point, stop giving it to them.
And welcome to the world of business.
Enjoy your games.
It's nice that they're pushing the M+, I guess. It'll make developers feel better about supporting it.
As far as screwing early adopters? I bought my 360 for $400 and my PS3 for $500. I also saw Watchmen in the first week for double the price of a matinee a month later.
@Koda89: Maybe they didn't have the stock for it? They bundled a great deal of Motion Plus adapters with a pair of EA Sports games before Wii Sports Resort was released. That might not have left enough to bundle more than one per game disc.
We've gotten trucks with five or six boxes at a time of the standalone units. Stock wasn't an issue.
It might be a matter of trying to convince companies to do multiplayer development with WM+ in mind, though; if people are just getting the one and not extras, packing two into Wii Sports Resort starts creating households that have at least two right out of the box.
So will the version with only one Motionplus go away then? I only have one Wiimote, and I don't think the motionplus works any better if you use two of them at once.
"Stop having that boring Wii controller, stop having a boring life.
You gotta have some Motion Plus in your diet.
Buy one now and get the second one for only $9.99. "
I have one thing to say in response to this: You're gonna love my nunchucks!
@DeadlyWhispers: Meh... being able to play since launch was worth it. The wife preordered this, so getting another MotionPlus wasn't an option if I wanted to play at all.
For the sick amount of hours we've gotten out of it (She beat Showdown level 20 and got all the Swordplay stamps), paying full price is no big thing...
PLUS! I can now say I'm one of those elitist early-adopter snobs that buy enough day-one crap to make the price point come down for the rest of you slugs haha!
