    I'm lucky enough to have a girlfriend who beat Bioshock (on PC) two weeks ago and who's favorite game is Thief 2. We also played through Resident Evil 5 cooperatively on 360. Doesn't get much better than that. #newsupermariobroswii

    @Strangelove: Agreed: Lucky! FPS GF would be awesome. I got the wife hooked on PuzzleQuest because she loved Bejewelled, but all that really did was tie up the computer for a few hours.

    For fifty measly Club Nintendo points, this doesn't sound half-bad. Meaning: it sounds just stupid and ridiculous enough to be novel for such a low, low "price".

    My favorite Club Nintendo gift has to be the Nintendo Hanafuda cards. The problem is that Koi-Koi isn't exactly the easiest game to learn, or to teach. The plush Mario hat is also well-constructed, but too small (for me) to wear.

    @Sustenance: I feel like every reward on the North America Club Nintendo website is highway robbery. Obviously they can't just give shit away for free, but so few people take advantage of Club Nintendo that it seems like a drop in the bucket.

    The recent Zelda posters are the only things on there that seem like a reasonable price. Hell, not only are they actually cool (instead of being a lame trinket you never really wanted in the first place), they're the 2nd cheapest thing on there!

    Honestly, getting 600 points requires that you buy a great deal of first party games. A deck of cards should not cost that much (I'm going by memory, I may be slightly off on the exact price).
    There need to be way more things like this 50 point WiiWare game that Japan is getting. #clubnintendo

    @nworobes: I agree with you, actually. Nothing on there is a great deal when you do the math. But it's like a PBS pledge drive. You aren't really paying $200 for a coffee table book (or whatever)... Nintendo's just "thanking you for your spending habits by sending you this plastic stylus case". #clubnintendo

    I'm so stoked for this game it's unbelievable. Ordered this at the same time as MW2, which was supposed to come at release date (today), but didn't. Hoefully he Mario Bros don't let me down and come a day early, instead of making we wait until Monday! #newsupermariobroswii

    @SuperSonik: Too bad you have no way to play online. Really, I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to use the Friend Code system. A multiplayer game without online capabilities? Pass.

    Good job with the box though. It stands out. It's good.

    @jellotek: Not too many years ago, no multiplayer had online. Besides, as much as I love online, (bought a 360 for this reason), this game would be annoying to play online because of the massive douchefest that would ensue when the random person you're playing against decides to throw you into a pit for teh lulz. This game's much better suited to local multiplayer with friends. #newsupermariobroswii

    Remember the gold Zelda NES cartridges? And how occasionally third-party games would be colorful or have a different grip? Gave me a magical feeling when I was tout. Like I was collecting /treasure./ I remember I had a baby blue Genesis game. Don't remember what it was, but I loved it as an object.

    Discs only give me that feeling when they're shaped strangely. Early on, Gamecube discs did it. One of my favorite bands (Coil) used to make a habit of dolling up their CDs. Consequently, I was more likely to collect them and not just listen to friends' tapes.

    Given how expensive this hobby is, any little thing that makes me happy to have made the purchase is a plus. #newsupermariobroswii

    @MosallahNejad: Very well said.... The alternative color cartridges were always exciting to the eye for one reason or another. I remember opening up Game Boy games and hoping there'd be an alternate color cart in there. Few had them though. #newsupermariobroswii

    @Skunky: The World is Not Enough (James Bond) had a blue cart. Also, Amry Men: Sarge's Heroes had green, I think one of the Tony Hawk's was yellow. #newsupermariobroswii

    @TylDurden: It's my most hyped game too and I do own other systems. It really shouldn't be hard for you to fathom and not everyone has to have your taste in games - so you really should get off of that line of thinking.

    @Mommar: @Lozmaster: @Foxstar is in love with Kotaku's two Brians.: I don't doubt it will be a big seller. It is also ONE of my most looked forward to games this year. I wouldn't say I'm EXCITED for it but its one of the few I will be getting this year. It can't be much different from NSMBDS but now its 4 player. I played through it on DS once and can't bring myself back to it. Just not that fun. This will probably be the same.

    Excited to stay up till 3am with it for the next week?
    No.

    @Kenology18: Yes sir. Shadowman was very good. I would love an XBLA/PSN release or better yet a full release remake. I'm afraid they would ruin it though cause it came from the era of little to no hints and tons of exploration. I mean, the only map you had was a paper copy that came in the box.

    @ShaggE wants to join the Egg Council.: I'm not sure if you can really call this a 2D game though. It's not a pure 2D gaming platformer because it features a lot of 3D elements in it. However, it is nice to see games like this because it shows us how games would have progressed if full 3D gaming hadn't come along. I personally think that 2D gaming had a lot more potential than we ever saw back in on the NES, SNES and Genesis. Just look at some of the 2D games that are available now. They look incredibly detailed and fluid in action.

    If you want my honest opinion. I think most 2D games have better art direction than these photo-realistic FPS games that are available. I'll take style of anything else. I also think games that attempt unique visual styles this generation tend to look better than games with so called "Superior graphics". HD+Photo realism doesn't equal better graphics. This reason alone is why I think Mirror's Edge is the most beautiful game to come out so far this generation. The game was absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word.
