In reply to Is This Game Ripping Off Mario Galaxy?
.... Wow, I even recognise hal-No Wait-Most of the screenshots as being ploy for ploy, minus a couple thousand.

I mean, ripping off play mechanics, etc, is one thing, but they've ripped off locations and bosses even. At least if you use your own levels you can make it unique.

Looks like what would happen if Mario Galaxy made sweet drunken love with Spyro The Dragon.

Seems like China's gaming answer a la Brazil's answer to pixar/dreamworks cartoons.

Although the quality of the former country's product is far better than that of the latter.

You can't expect to rip off a Mario game and not have people notice.

If you're going to plagarize, don't do it with the most recognizable franchise in video games.

The graphics look to be of N64 quality. Is it really going to cut into Galaxy 1 or 2 sales?

Yup, China's gonna have to really nip this issue in the bud sooner or later or they are never going to be properly accepted by the rest of the world.

But given the long term rivalry between the Japanese and Chinese, I'm not shocked.

@Foxstar is in love with Kotaku's two Brians.: Considering they are a sixth of the popullation, that they'll practically own Africa in a few years, and that most countries in the world don't care about these things, I don't think China needs to be accepted by that "rest of the world" at all.

Pretty sure the rest of the world already loves what moneys they get from China and what demand they be given everyone.

@MichaelPalin: Couldn't have said it better myself.

Besides, a lot of what Japanese companies did with American tech in 1950s and 1960s could be considered "ripping off" by today IP standard.

@Foxstar is in love with Kotaku's two Brians.: While the idea that China will never achieve the level of hegemony previous states have in its current state is a sentiment I share, I'd say intellectual theft of this level is the least of their worries. The fact that China was committing cyber crimes against Rolls-Royce and Shell, those things are far bigger issues.

I went to Gamestop this morning hoping for the PC version of L4D2 for 30 bucks, as well as MySims Agents for the Wii for 20 bucks for my gf, and they had neither game. Thanks for those great Black Friday specials! (BTW I was in the store at 6 when they opened. They didn't have them to begin with, it wasn't that they were sold out.)

In reply to Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Review: Three's A Welcome Trend
I enjoyed Umbrella chronicles much more than I thought I would. Although the bosses did my head in. I won't front: they handed me arse to me many a time!

I harbour a deep amount of love for Resident evil 2 (giant alligator attack and all ;P), but I'm not feeling the same desire to get the Darkside chronicles as I did the first game. Probably because I know it's just going to be more of the same, and I want more than that.

It's a real shame Capcom STILL haven't included online play. That would have been something that might have swayed me more into getting this game. Because frankly, when my friends and I get together - we don't really tend to sit and play games. And on the occasions we do, we stick on a beat 'em up.

It'll be interesting to see how Capcom handle the Code: Veronica scenario's. Given Claire and Steve were rarely ever together in the game, and the only hint of the two of them having 'something' was when [SPOILER!!!!!] Steve died.

Borderlands? What happened? Walmart and Amazon both had it $44 on Wed. and then today Walmart is back to $60 and all other locations got it for $50 or more. Anyone know a cheap place to get Borderlands? Same with Dualshock 3's. RadioShack was sold out of the $30 ones, oh well... Amazon for $40?

In reply to Resident Evil Clergy Critics: "Wait, What?"
Anyone who would actually take offense to Capcom's chastising these crusty old bastards wasn't going to buy the game anyway. All it does is up the controversy dial, which in turn translates to more hype with the fanbase. They like things like this.
