My mistake, somewhere along the line I got the idea in my head tha tthe Wii Remote combo was $70.
Well, with it being $50 for the Wii Remote combo, this is certainly a better deal!

This black set up is only $70 all told. It is cheaper by $15.

The Wii has tons of 4 player party games... which is almost mandatory to have 4 sets of weapons... Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party, Raving Rabbids, and Smarty Pants are just a few of my old games that had 4 player support that was regularly played with.
I purchased each console for their own purpose:
Wii = Party Games, Innovative crap
360 = Games that look like ass on the PS3, Early DLC, Exclusives
PS3 = Online Games so I can ignore GOLD membership, Exclusives

Wii = Off the wall quirky stuff you just cant find on the HD consoles plus all the GOOD motion games/exercise/first party stuff.
360 = All the multiplatform HD games that are better on 360 than PS3 (most of them) + all my friends are online.
PS3 = All the great PS3 exclusives plus Blu-Ray player.

Yeah man, your words, not mine. An acceptable answer would have been "with the 360 it's the subscription fees", because those are mandatory for multiplayer experience.
The original point of contention in the thread is that the Wii isn't the cheapest console. Your rebuttal was, "oh yeah? stick this in your tailpipe and smoke it"(basically), but the original point of contention still stands, the amount of peripherals you have to buy for a Wii is expensive. For me to play a 360 or PS3 game all I need is the original controller. They aren't going to make games that require a PS3 Fit Board or a 360 Plus, and both systems are intended for multiplayer gaming online. The Wii is intended for in home multiplayer and is marketed towards consumers who have no use for Wii friend codes and online play. #wiiremote

Here, let me help save you the time from scrolling all the way up to the top.

And I argued that people DON'T think the Wii is the cheapest console. Guess you missed that part. Otherwise, maybe you'd notice you agree with me.

I made no rebuttal. In fact, my argument (if indeed there WAS an arguement from me) was that the Wii ISN"T the cheapest.
But I went on to say, that all 3 consoles can get expensive if you buy accessories and extra controllers and that's absolutely true.
And, f you want to play specific games, you may need something different or special, like a hard drive on the 360 (expensive add-on), or an eye toy (less expensive add-on) on the PS3, or a balance board (expensive add-on) on the Wii. But it doesn't matter because you've completely missed the point (in some bizarre need to restate that the Wii is expensive) which is this, " NO system is cheap if you want a 4 player setup or other bells and whistles." MY words. Read em again Einstein. A wireless adapter on the 360 qualifies as a bell/whistle does it not? How about a bigger harddrive? I never said you MUST buy it. You don't have to buy 4 controllers for any console, but if you do, it's gonna cost you......alot. Simple as that. If you trick out any system, you're gonna end up spending a lot more than the console alone costs. I don't think I can make it much simpler than that. Hope you're no longer confused.

Really, at Toysrus this week I can get a wiimote+nunuk and a free motion plus in the 3 for 2 deal. It's $20 not $25. So I could get all three for $60 plus tax but that is still too much just for an extra "controller" for multiplayer gaming. /shrug
Maybe when/if they make games that require motionplus that I actually want then this will be a great deal but that has yet to happen. Wii sports resort and golf games are not a must buy for me. #wiiremote

haha I kid, but I disagree, when the Wii first released the world was deep in the clutches of the Apple "everything has to be white and clean" madness, I read a big ole article on the Wii's design in a ONM issue before release, of course thats just what the journalists for ONM were saying, not an official statement.

In fact, at the time, on Apple's sales training site it poked fun at the black MacBook. In a hypothetical situation asking you which machine fits best for what customer, one of the "customers" says, "I want the black one cause it's cool". (where as the others would say something to the effect of, "I want a notebook that fits my digital lifestyle" blah blah...)

For my system at college, it gets moved around from time to time, and stuff gets set on it pretty regularly. I just think the matte-black makes it more hardy for people who live that sort of lifestyle. #wiiremote

The name is completely meaningless for anyone who isn't intimately familiar with the Halo universe. Granted, that might include a lot of people, but it still means gibberish for most.
Anyone with a basic understanding of branding, which game publishers don't seem to have, would know that you don't create acronyms when people aren't yet familiar with what it's supposed to stand for.
I don't think the second poll question is fair. How can I know whether Sony or Microsoft's motion control systems are well integrated if they aren't out yet?

The PSPgo question didn't have the answer I wanted to select. My biggest problem with the handheld is that all games are DLC. If we let DLC become the exclusive way to buy games (or other content), we will end up regretting it. It will be EXPENSIVE as hell with no retail competition. It will only be good as long as the company supports it. DLC is the way of the future, but it's definitely the wrong way.

The difference with DLC on PC is that there are different distributor and that hepls to keep it somewhat competative. Couldnt happen with the PSP though
