    I got the email earlier today.
    Haven't touched Archlord for years. Just remember it being horrendously boring. like pure grindfest. And nothing in place for say a group of housemates that work through quests far too quick.

    I would be really curious to see user statistics on all of these free games. I have never even heard of this game, yet somebody is spending money to keep it alive so it has to be profitable.

    @trunkenmath: If i rememebr correctly Archlord made money buy allowing you to buy in-game items with real cash. Kinda like how BattleField: Heroes works.

    As for stats on free games Runescape was touted to have 10million or whatever, and I think on last inspection Free Realms had 5million.
    And as a comparison WoW has 12million and WAR 300,000

    I've been following this one for a while, and I hate to say it, but I'm not hopeful. From where it started, as a Planetside with more dystopia and quasi-RPG elements, it's lingered in development for far too long. From all I hear, it's slowly degraded into Yet Another Team Shooter with minimal interesting qualities.
    Oh well. Here's hoping that someone else will make that SciFi FPSMMO we're all really looking for.
    Well, me and the fourteen other guys, that is.

    I was a member of the closed Beta about a month ago. It's not a bad game. The rpg customizations + fighting as an FPS works alright. What annoyed me about the game was the art style and engine. The game flew on my system but it looks like Gears of War's ugly cousin. Why couldn't the devs give the game it's own unique look? Does the Unreal engine force devs to fight against it to stop their games from looking the same?

    Here's my take on it.
    Think of the Unreal engine as the collection of genes to make you look like... Whatever, let's say black guy.
    So you can make some changes somewhat easily, namely make it so that your skin is "white".
    However, it'll take a hella lot more to make you Be like a white guy in the genetic sense, with a lot of potential to dog it all up on the way there.

    Can't get the captcha key to load for some odd reason. I turned all my AV and firewall stuff off and still no dice. Oh well, from the negative comments I'm reading it probably wouldn't be worth it anyway.
