Wasn't there meant to be a new Star Wars game announced today as well? If this comic ties in with a new KOTOR (unlikley, but let me dream) game I'll......well I don't know what I will do. But it will involve lots of high pitched squealing.
@BristolRuss: Clue's in the title, my friend. It's for The Old Republic, the MMO set in the KOTOR-era. Cue lots of whining about 'where is the real KOTOR 3!?'
"As with any Star Wars series, the second act is always the most action-packed."
I thought it was always the third that was the most action packed (ROTS, ROTJ). Not sure if there are any other "Star Wars series" I should be aware of.
@Showmeyomoves!: The second movie of each trilogy has quite a deal of action as well. I mean, ESB does get Hoth and the Vader/Luke fight, whilst AOTC gets the battle of Geonosis and the Obi/Anakin/Yoda/Dooku (my, that's a lot of slashes) fight.
But I would agree, I'd definitley count the Third in each trilogy as the most actin packed.
Sounds like fun to me. I don't understand what all the bitching is about, really. I'm sure they'll be coming out with a KOTOR 3 at some point, so if you don't want to play this, then don't.
People could atleast give this game a chance. They want story to be a big part of it and also allow the singleplayer people a good time. FUrthermore they are working on KOTOR3 so please people lighten up and start getting that sand out of your crack. I"m looking forward to it and with me plenty of others.
@Dehnus: Yeah, I agree. What's with all the whining? If anything, I get first dibs on whining, being a huge Star Wars aficianado. However, I don't see anything to complain about with this game. I mean, come on, this is being made by BIOWARE! They can make pure shit into gold. Also, the lightsabers aren't huge anymore, they've since corrected that. But everyone just wants to bitch about something these days. So what if it's not single player? Companies need to cater to where the money's at, and obviously Bioware know that they'll profit better from something of this caliber versus a one-time purchase with a single-player title. You can't hate a company for trying to thrive in this godforsaken economy. And if you say that in this economy, that you can't afford the costs of playing an MMO, you go ahead and tell that to the millions of WoW players that are.
I for one, am looking forward to this. We need a new Star Wars MMO. Galaxies was fun at first, but crumbled away with that NGE bullshit. I'm hoping for a clean slate with this one and I know Bioware can pull it off.
@Cinnamon: Jesus Christ, people, it's a goddamned MMO, there will be a subscription fee to play, per month.
Why do console gamers not understand that MMOs have subscription fees? They act as though they are getting personally fucked over by it. Maybe if they didn't have a system where they have to pay to play online, or where they didn't get ripped off paying more for games with less content in the first place, they might understand? Maybe?
I'm going to go hide in a bunker until A. This game has fallen off the public radar (i.e. galaxies) B. George Lucas is dead, or C. They make a proper KOTOR 3 game and everyone responsible for this atrocity will be flogged.
@Brett Ryans: It's an MMO not a game. You see, a game has a beginning, middle, and an end. It doesn't milk you for money every month to get more middle and more middle, with no end in sight.
An MMO is a game. There is no rulebook that games need to be like movies or books.
And there are plenty of "games" that leave yo with no end, just to make a sequel, and leave things out so you have to nickel and dime the DLable content.
@Cinnamon: For me they already have. More cartoony graphics and MMO ruins it. I liked the solitary experience of KOTOR and it felt really good and powerful to be the Jedi saving the universe. Now your kind of one of a set, a huge set. It'll probably be okay anyway but I'm totally uninterested myself.

It likely doesn't since popular sequels sell and make money.
And Lucas Arts is about making money.

This is not KOTOR3. This is an Old Republic MMO.
Chances are they will still have a KOTOR3 game made.
@Transonic:
/agree
One part of me wishes it looked more realistic like KOTOR, but another part does not mind it's look.
I understand that too real sacrifices demographics with system requirements, and after seeing it in motion, it sure does look impressive.
