It's an interesting approach to promoting the product. Unfortunately, I looked at the game initially and felt it was a bit too generic. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay has some really interesting and innovative classes and a cool class changing system. None of that is in this MMO. #warhammeronline
Is that a Maine Coon Cat? I have one. She's old, but the best breed of cat I've ever seen, in my opinion. The long fur is extremely frustrating to maintain though--if not downright impossible.
@bakagaijin: He's part maine coon. He has the pitiful, high-pitched meow and the hair everywhere, but he's definitely got something else in him. Like staples.
@the-hypnotoad: Hehe... That story is classic. Summary of Commercialism while it was still in its... well, not infancy, but at least in its... teen years? Something like that.
WAR, not so awesome. I don't think I'll enjoy a game ever again that has Mark Jacobs or the Mythic name attached to it. And this is from DAoC days, not semi-recent douchebaggery.
Whatever your personal beef is, you should probably learn to forgive and forget. I wouldn't hate on a game just because someone is involved with it. I hate most of blizzard with a passion, but I still have respect for the shit they make - and thats all that counts anyways.
Since when did the gaming universe become a chatty cathy elitist turdfestival? I thought we came to play games, not hate on some dude that...also plays games.
@Matt Gray: It's not a personal beef, other than the fact that he was heading up a studio (read: decision-maker), and ruined a completely good game. The downside of that, is that in doing so, he took a bunch of time that I had invested in said game and threw it out the window. He's still the head of that studio, I still question the radical changes he will approve in games produced by the studio, and because of past experience I choose not to play the game.
The gaming universe isn't a chatty Cathy universe, it's a consumer universe. The last time you had a horrible experience with the food from a restaurant, did you not hold it against the restaurant (and probably never go back, at least until it was under new management)?
I specifically have nothing personal against Mr. Jacobs (and thought I made that clear). I just will never play another MMORPG that he has anything to do with due to prior experiences.
@Omnimon: Just to throw another opinion out there, I for one enjoy Warhammer Online a lot. Not as much as DAoC before it got that annoying expansion, but it's very fun. Best PvP out there atm, imo. If they fix the extreme server lag in the giant battles, I'd say it's very close to what I liked about DAoC in the early days. Just without a third realm to keep things balanced.
@Shadowmist: I have heard good and bad until today when a co-worker mentioned the game and started complaining about an upcoming patch that will revise all classes. I had a flashback.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the game, and I won't tell you not to have an opinion. Enjoy!
@bakagaijin: They are as wild as housecats, really, only about twice as big.
They won't eat you but they'll leave some nasty clawmarks that can get infected if you don't stay on their good side, just like housecats (only with bigger claws and teeth). They're servals. They're illegal in most states in the US, but legal in Nevada and Wisconsin and actually make pretty good pets if you don't mind something a little more challenging than a golden retriever. Or so I've heard.
Damned California and their blanket "no exotics" law which covers all mammals that aren't plain dogs, cats, hamsters, rats, mice, and... strangely... Cows and Horses (and probably bison and beefalo, too) But anything else is illegal. Ferrets, Skunks, Servals, Bobcats, and of course Ocelots (unless you have a zoo license)
Ocelots were popular pets in Hollywood before the ban on exotics.
@Graham: I have it on various authorities that skunks make good pets too, when deglanded and when you learn to keep their claws trimmed (not removed) and never let them get into food that's not theirs (it will make them obese and they'll die more easily)

Also "only the computers it is played on will be slightly more expensive and prettier to look at."

Anal blood will fall on a pimple,
The Butterfly is torn in two,
One dollar to ride the elevator of fire,
Use the key and the fan,
The pimple is a bull.
