<![CDATA[Katamari Wallpapers from the Past]]>
WE MUST NEVER FORGET!

With all the excitement of the new Beautiful Katamari coming out as well as all the new artwork from the game, it's nice to know that one smart Flickr member had the brains to download the wallpapers from the original Katamari Damacy site so we can enjoy them before the real frenzy begins.

Kraftaku ways to use the wallpapers? Upload the images on your cellphone (therefore breaking it when you realize you should have downsized the file), use them as wrapping paper, laminate the larger sizes for use as place mats, and, of course, make 1,000 paper cranes out them so you can wish that Beautiful Katamari would come out sooner.

<![CDATA[Stunning High-Res Okami Wallpapers]]>

I'm usually loathe to post wallpapers, but these Okami wallpapers are just absolutely stunning. And since this is the closest I can get to Okami for the next six months, thanks to usual incompetence in Euro-zone translation, I suppose I'll have to settle for listening to the 5 CD soundtrack and setting my MacBook Pro's background wallpaper to shuffle.

<![CDATA[Halo 3 Wallpapers at Bungie.net]]>

If you were as impressed by the in-engine Halo 3 trailer as we are, Gamerscoreblog has pointed out that Bungie have released a couple of attractive Master Chief wallpapers for your desktop and/or 360. It occurs to us that wallpapers of upcoming games is almost a form of gamer porn, the equivalent of making your wallpaper a bikini babe who is still in utero. But don't let that creepy analogy stop you from proudly slapping this up behind your icons!

<![CDATA[Anthropomorphical Bunny Goes To Silent Hill... Wallpapers!]]> 5_800.JPG

Our recent post on Robbie — the creepy six-foot rabbit nightmarishly inhabiting the Silent Hill universe — sparked a flurry of emails. What is he? Is Robbie the insane homicidal doppelganger of that beatific cottontail, the Easter Bunny? The fact that Robbie trafficks in still pulsating human hearts instead of candy filled easter eggs speaks volumes for this theory.

While we don't have all the answers in regards to Robbie, we can definitively state that the video we posted earlier today comes from the Silent Hill Experience UMD, proving once and for all that UMDs aren't totally worthless. It was also on the Art of SIlent Hill 3 DVD.

Not only that, but trusty reader Ilia C. has wrote mentioning that Robbie appears to be a Silent Hill mascot of sorts, and points us to the Japanese Silent Hill 4 site, which has more creepy Robbie wallpapers than you can shake a stick at!

<![CDATA[Wii Wallpapers Galore]]> wiiwallpaper.jpg

There is a certain post-modern irony about the name Wii that the gaming community's healthy cross-section of Nintendo fanboys and the mentally ill find quite delicious. While the rest of us were reacting to the news of the Revolution's name change with a perpetual gurgling in the back of our throats that could only be cleared by tearing out our own jugulars with our fingernails, you guys were designing cute, slightly fruity wallpapers celebrating the new name. This happened mostly on IGN's forums, so we weren't really paying attention, but luckily, New Generation has compiled a few of the more attractive designs for the desktop-gracing of the fanatic Wii nutball.

If you want to replace your current wallpaper of a scarlet fist holding the Revolution controller stabbing defiantly at the sky with something a bit more topical, you could do worse than these largely handsome yet utterly misguided designs.
