No. Would a wallpaper of them be damned cool anyway? Yes. A user on the Steam forums has put them together for you to download.

Qpingu of the TF2 community - "taking days of tedious work" - packed them up into a sheet you can download at seven different resolutions. He threw the links up yesterday. The icon pack covers all achievements through the Sniper vs. Spy update, and he promises future versions to incorporate additional TF2 updates.

You can slap this down as a desktop pic, but I'm already thinking about spending a day with a jailbroken iPhone bringing these in as a custom theme. I'm sure you guys can think of other uses too. Or, like I said, it's not about the doing, it's about the having.

<![CDATA[A Saucy Call of Juarez Wallpaper To Pass The Time]]> Two embargoes prevent me from saying too much about Ubisoft's Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood; but between this sexy wallpaper and the last trailer we saw, you've got all you need for now.

Just to get everyone on the same sexy page, here's what we know about the game so far so far: Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is Techland's prequel to 2006's Western shooter, Call of Juarez. Bound in Blood focuses more on the gunslinging part than its predecessor and features a cool duel mechanic that simulates the Western quick-draw cliche. Players choose at the beginning of each level whether to play Ray or Thomas McCall — one brother's burly, the other ranged — and progress through a tale of blood, betrayal and presumably redemption because that's the title of the last trailer.

Be sure to check it out so you're not completely caught off-guard by the awesome when those embargoes expire. You can read our GDC 2009 impressions here to study up.

Grab the full-sized version right here.

<![CDATA[A Collection of Killer Gaming Wallpapers]]> Yesterday our sister site Lifehacker posted a collection of eye-popping desktop wallpapers they found, and it is too good not to share over here.

I've had the same picture of the Pyramid Peaks in Colorado on my desktop since 2003. If your background's getting a little stale, too, certainly one of these will do the trick.

Lifehacker two weeks ago also posted some killer retro-gaming wallpapers (God, how I want the one with Asshole Dog snickering at me) but the flood of traffic killed Desktop Gaming's bandwidth. So keep an eye on that URL when it comes back up, it may have some good stuff. Just, you know, go there quietly, and in an orderly fashion.

We can't post them at full resolution, so following are previews with links to the full size versions (which is on deviantART, so there shouldn't be a bandwidth problem). Enjoy.

<![CDATA[Lionhead Patches Fable Pub Games Glitch, Community Offers Advice For Earning Big.]]> Well, if you were hoping to fill your pockets and give your first Fable II character a healthy bank balance by exploiting the Fable II Pub Games bug you had better get in quick — Lionhead is hard at work on a patch that will put paid to your ill gotten gains.

It's not all bad news (or good news, assuming you would rather play a game without the possibility of cheating) as Lionhead's community blog has a page full of tips designed to maximize your Pub Games earning potential while staying within the rules. Their advice? "If you are wondering about a 'much talked about' exploit, just ignore it (and know that a patch is on the way)."

But as Lionhead taketh with one hand, they giveth with the other - a rather natty set of Fable II wallpapers has turned up on the official Fable II site and an update to the Fable backstory Tales Of Albion entitled The fall of the Heroes” is now live (requires Microsoft Silverlight to play).

<![CDATA[A Very Killzone Christmas]]> On one hand, this is no way for Santa Claus to behave, but on the other hand this is sort of the natural evolution of our favorite holiday personification. Back in the day no one gave a damn about a bag full of wooden toys, but with Santa's sack now filled with iPods, Wiis, Xbox 360s, and PlayStation 3 consoles, it's hard to imagine he doesn't have mercenaries and pirates gunning for him constantly. This picture is available in a wide variety of wallpaper sizes, from PSP to PS3, all thanks to the nice folks at Killzone.com. And yes, I did indeed just say "Santa's sack."

Happy Holidays! [Killzone.com - Thanks Sebastian!]

<![CDATA[Freaky Pac-Man Wallpaper For Your Desktop]]> The email that this link arrived in was titled "Disturbing Pac-Man Wallpaper" and of course anything labeled "disturbing" gets me to open it faster than a kid opening presents on Christmas morning. While I don't find it particularly disturbing, I do think it's pretty cool. It was created with a combination of Blender and Photoshop and is available in just about any size you could possibly want for free. The artist is also selling signed prints for £25 including p&p.

<![CDATA[70's Vomit Wallpapers Meet Video Games]]>

Over at smart guy visual theory blog Think in Pictures, jeremiah McNichols has mashed together two of his seemingly discordant mutual interests — atrocious 70's wall paper and retro video game screenshots — with some absolutely beautiful results.

I'm particularly fond of this Pitfall screenshot, where the jungle foliage is the exact decomposed hummus wallpaper that was peeling off my grandmother's kitchen wall as a boy.

<![CDATA[Torokun's Awesome Metroid Fan Art]]>

I'm just going to shut up and let Torokun's awesome Samus Aran artwork speak for itself. Aww, who am I kidding? I love to hear myself talk and love to read what I write. I'm just that egocentric! After reading about my penchant for the Metroid heroine's delicious space booty and somehow avoiding total disgust, he passed on a link to his deviantart gallery with the above, white-hot fanart.

Poking around the gallery led to me to more awesome video game inspired pieces by James, including this other shot of the blonde bounty hunter and this fantastic Katamari/Evangelion mecha mash-up. I'll be keeping my eye on future pieces from the artist.

A larger, wallpaper appropriate version of the intro pic is available here for your downloading and ogling pleasure.

Thanks for the heads up, James. And keep up the good work.
