funny story i bought the 160 gb ps3 with uncharted and resistance from craigslist for $369. to this day im yet to play it because my brother took it and hasn't brought it back. i should ask him for it, then again he did help me pay my tuiton for college, so i should just buy him one of these and get mine back and we should call it even.
I think this is a very solid bundle for new PS3 owners. Yes, this isn't as enticing as, say a "Killzone 2"/ "Black Hawk Down" bundle (that'd be a hell of a deal wouldn't it?) but you have an excellent movie (with amazing HD picture and sound) along with an extremely fun and cute platformer.
I'm digging it, but maybe it'd be an even better value if they threw in some PSN vouchers as well...
Wall-E >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Black Hawk Down.
If I didn't already have a PS3 I'd be all over this bundle. All I got with my PS3 was Spiderman 3. That POS isn't worthy of being used as a coaster for my year old jar of piss.
Am I alone in that I just didn't like Wall-E that much? It was decent, but in my personal opinion it's one of Pixar's weakest efforts. I'm not sure it's a movie that would be tremendously helped by Blu-Ray either.
@Black-Dog-Howls: Really? You're going to try to play that card? Wall-e was first brainstormed while the original Toy Story was being completed. Where as Hotel wasn't released till 2006. You're right, Pixar totally ripped the story off of that manga. You've cracked the conspiracy of how the west just takes stories from Japan and remakes them. Congratz.
@fronsac: The PS3 is more pricey if you only plan to play online games for less than 4 years, are just fine with no hard-drive, don't need a Wireless Network Adapter, and don't ever have to have it sent off to Microsoft.
For me, it all came down to the Region-Locked Japanese games that probably won't make its way to America. Bring Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta, Death Smiles, Shooting Love 200X and Otomedius Gorgeous to America, and I'll quickly hand over my funds to MS. As it stands, I'm not going to import a Japanese 360 and these games, only to have something screw up with it and get stuck with a brick and coasters. I've already had that fate befall a friend of mine just yesterday (and we were about to play BlazBlue too...).
@yamato: Nah the gun metal PS3 was pretty sweet but IMO the best time to get a PS3 was back when the 60GB had full backwards compatibility, memory card readers, more usb ports etc.
I hated having my new age 80GB knowing someone had a much better piece of kit than me. Luckily I managed to trade it in at the a store where the manager thought I was crazy.
@yamato: Gun metal PS3 was crap. It was a 40 gig for the price of the old 60 gig The best one would have been a 60 gig. Which I have. **crossing my fingers that it'll survive until the next fully BC system comes out**

Of course, they had to wait more than a week after Father's Day to do it. It's almost like they hate money at this point.

Anyways, that's a fine line there man. You don't want to have the Lion King brought up in relation to a certain Tezuka work. Kimba was a great lion.

I can get a lots of stuff with $400

Like a 360 Arcade and a bunch of really good used games maybe? ;)

That turned out to be a bit of a joke, as a few months later it could be found in plentiful quantities on Amazon for $400.

My bad, since I had already bought my 40GB non backwards compatible PS3 I wasn't following it too much.
Course I had a choice between small drives and no compatibility, or RRoD, and my stupid ass got both.
If gaming history has told us anything, its don't be an early adopter.

The same could be said of Microsoft and their PC software.
