I love You Have To Burn The Rope, but I personally don't think it shouldn't win for the same reason I was annoyed at Super Columbine RPG being in Slamdance a few years back. Yes, it's got an interesting message -- but there's really not much of a game there.
If you haven't tried it, I recommend downloading the demo of Brainpipe.
Burn the rope is rubbish, it's not even a game. Not even a demo. How can you vote for that? Keep the arty farty comments on media and interaction for more serious mediums. Burn the frickin' rope... jeez.
I'm voting Braid in every category it's nominated in, SFII in multiplayer competitive, Bionic Commando in multiplayer co-op and Bionic Commando again in remake.
N+ all the way baby. Best game of this generation in my opinion. There is an N browser game and if they just tweaked it so that mouse click was jump it would work fully on the PS3 browser. That's the only thing stopping it.
You can use the d-pad and it just needs click. Such a simple fix - as mouse click on PS3 is X it would feel work perfect.
Guess it's a minor category so I shouldn't be too upset. I'm sure there'd been people banging on the XBLA guy's door if they ignored those and nominated the 1942 remake.
Uhmm... Braid and Castle Crashers in Best Graphics? Are there really no games with good graphics? I don't say the graphics of those games doesn't fit or is bad, but it's simply nothing spectacular or breath-taking.
@Darrisbob1 worked at WalMart once: SF2HDR does not deserve to win anything graphics related with its jittery animation and hideous art style. Rez, Ikaruga, Portal, and others should have been nominated in its place. Oh well.
if only people realized the true story and what not of braid...
It's not a fairy tale...
let's just say that the princess exploding when you get the 8th star, and WW2 propaganda poster in not of the puzzles has something to do with the real meaning of the game.
@UstinStitch: dude...i'm getting the game tonight and if what you wrote was a spoiler i'lll f--k you up. BELIEVE it. I mean WTF man, not everyone has played the game yet.
@procrasturbate: Don't worry, UrstinStitch hasn't really spoiled anything for you. You'll really like Braid, it's an awesome game.
@UstinStitch: You're probably partially right. A braid, by definition, is made up of more than one strand of hair/rope/whatever. Jonathan Blow said that the game wasn't just about the atomic bomb, that's because although that may be one theme, there are many more. That's why it annoys me when people say, "Braid is about x" or "Braid is about y." Braid is not solely about one thing, it's about x, y, and z all mixed together.

Braid's are and graphics are amazing, what crack are you smoking?
And both Castle Crashers and Braid were made by 1 or 2 people. (Braid - 1 person / Castle Crashers - 2 people)
Both art styles are amazing and very well made. Even though SF2HDR will most likely win, they definitely deserve to be nominated.
