LittleBigPlanet: To Wipe, Or Not To Wipe

We've seen some pretty amazing things come out of the LittleBigPlanet beta test so far, including yesterday's amazing calculating sack boy squad. Wouldn't it be a pity to lose all of that goodness in the name of making sure everyone was on level footing for launch? Right now the LittleBigPlanet news site is hosting a poll asking players both in and out of beta whether or not the user created content created so far should be completely flushed down the toilet once the game launches. Final Web Of Shadows Box Art Decided

The votes have been tallied, and to my great surprise and dismay, the Spider-Man: Web of Shadows box art has been chosen by the fans themselves, and they chose...poorly. I suppose in all fairness the two choices we were presented weren't all that great in the first place - it was either Spider-Man holding a dome-less snow globe or Spider-Man with concept art for arms. I was leaning towards the snow globe myself, but Wolverine and Venom together on one cover is kind of hard to resist. More »

Which Street Fighter IV Figurines Do You Want?

Capcom USA is in a bit of a pickle. Seems they want to give us shiny new Street Fighter IV figurines to play with in the bathtub display in a mature fashion atop our mahogany bookshelves, but there are just so many characters out there they cannot decide which ones to make. They've decided to turn to the gaming community to decide, with a poll running along the side of their page that will allow you to choose your top three choices for immortalization in PVC form. Will you go with the new characters just to give them a fair shake, or are the 20 million Chun-Li figures out there just not enough for you? Hit up the Capcom blog and make your voice heard! More »

Vote For Capcom Costumes in We Love Golf

The upcoming golf game We Love Golf will be featuring alternate Capcom costumes for each of its ten characters. The European and US versions of the game will be getting two new characters and Capcom is asking for your help in deciding what classic costumes will be available for them. For the male character you can choose between Frank West (Dead Rising), Balrog (Street Fighter), Guy (Final Fight), Ken (Street Fighter), Dhalsim (Street Fighter), and Captain Commando (Bionic Commando). The ladies also have a nice list to choose from including Cammy (Street Fighter), Morrigan (Darkstalkers), Rouge (Power Stone), Roll Caskett (Mega Man Legends), and Ashley Graham (Resident Evil). You can vote for yourself in the sidebar of Capcom's Official blog. What will be your picks for classic Capcom golf fashion? Personally, I'm voting for the Frank West boxer briefs ensemble.

    The Steampunk Space Invaders Tee

Being the t-shirt freak that I am, I always promise myself that I will stop buying them so that I don't fill yet a second chest of drawers. But, inevitably one comes along that you can't resist and this would fall into that category for me. Artist etherbrian has posted his steampunk space invader design "Interloper From Beyond The Heavens" up for votes on Threadless and it's still got about six more days left to rack up enough points to get it printed. Amazingly awesome. More »

EA Owns 25% of Vote at Ubisoft

For those keeping score at home, EA now owns over 15% of Ubisoft capital, but more importantly, over 25% of the vote in Ubisoft board affairs (though EA is claiming to have no interest in nominating board members). EA has actually not purchased any more shares in Ubisoft to reach this stake—their shares just doubled in allotted voting privileges. More »

    Name That Hero

One of the thing I liked about the original Fable was the ability to purchase different titles for yourself. Once your title was bought, the townsfolk would start calling you by that name every time you strolled into town. That same mechanic is going to be used in Fable 2 and Lionhead Studios is letting their forum members pick one of the names. More »

A Credit Card For Your God Complex

I guess it was just a matter of time before EA's uber-popular Sims franchise started expanding outside the computer and game screens. But EA wouldn't be satisfied with stickers or action figures, oh no. They are going straight to the top by issuing a Sims credit card. More »

    Vote For Machinimaker Award Finalists

Machinima.com and Lionsgate Films are currently holding a contest for... machinimas! Who'd have guessed, right? There are ten finalists competing for the Gamebox 1.0 Machinimaker Award and the top three winners will receive an Nvidia graphics card so as to allow them to make even more, even better machinimas to share with the world. Some of the submissions are extremely impressive and even though they are using already made graphics, the talents of the creator still shine through. More »

    Mario On Crack!

Ok, so he's not actually on crack, but a headline reading "See Mario's Crack" or any other such iteration didn't sound very enticing. And I want you to be enticed! Why? Because this has got to be one of the best video game related T-shirts I've seen on Threadless in a while and I want one! But, as you know, with Threadless, every vote must be counted before a shirt can be made. There's only two days left for voting on this design, so for my sake and yours, head over to Threadless and vote for this awesome shirt titled "Keeping It Real." Besides, what's a little crack between friends? More »

    Vote For Your Favorite Shirt

OK, my shirt guy down in Jersey tells me that we're going to go ahead and start running off logo only shirts, but we also need to decide on a slogan or two to start printing. Because of the insane number of entries we've had, we've stopped taking new ideas and now want you to concentrate on voting for the shirt you'd must likely want to wear. More »

That means that I am one of "over 200 video game industry writers/reporters from media companies" I get to vote on the winners for the award show and wear a spiffy robe. Actually, I m not quite clear on the robe thing, they never mentioned one, but I plan on wearing one anyway. More »
