Okay, I had no idea Kristen Bell was in the first, but this just went from a maybe to a definite buy. I love you Kristen Bell! Yes, I'm one of those guys.

I find it funny how she enthuses about her role in the first game when it was such a small bit that she probably recorded in the span of ten minutes. Similar to how the bonus video from Mass Effect showed some actor talking about how thrilled he was to play Navigator Pressly, a man with maybe five lines of dialogue at most. I'm sure it's a fun gig, but let's not go overboard here.

@Kobun: I don't know. She had quite a few lines if you bugged her enough. It wasn't required, but you could actually talk to her quite a lot. I was surprised how many lines her character had.

i like how they just seem to pretend that the first ass creed wasn't a horrible fail, a tech demo without gameplay, a broken onetrack experience with moronic ai and unskippable cutscenes, hyped beyond recognition and sold with hype.

in many ways ac was like a vapid supermodel, looking gorgeous but with *nothing* beneath the surface to engage you. and now they're doing the same thing, just spinning the hype a bit differently and adding costumes. whoopdeddooo.

@DrNickRiviera: You mean besides how they have admitted that the first one was too one-sided and they've done everything they can to bring more variation to the second installment? I can understand if you're jaded by the first AC, but if you don't think AC2 will be a helluva lot better, you probably haven't been following the coverage on this game.

@Showmeyomoves!: Agreed. I didn't like the first game either -

IGN's game guide put it best when telling you to just skip over trying to be 'stealthy' - when you have to ignore the major gimmick of the game to be able to enjoy it, something's wrong there...

    - but I am holding out for the second one. The potential is there, and hopefully now they've learned from their mistakes and can make a playable game.

Wow, an actor extolling the virtues of his latest work? Unheard of.

This is like the "behind the scenes" on DVDs where the actors say how great the director was, giving them so much freedom and always open to collaboration and allowing them the freedom the explore the characters... making them feel so "safe"... blah blah blah.

Actors saying things means NOTHING... they lie for a living people!

I don't know much about the game, but it is nice to see a Hollywood star actually putting some effort into his voice acting. I can't stand when developers go through the effort of signing big name talent (especially in licensed games), and then the big name talent is either rushed through the process, doesn't care about the work, or doesn't get enough time for multiple takes, and the results are wooden and grating.

As in, a one-day voice capture session. I know little to nothing about the magic of voice acting, and I'm not ruling out the possibility that Hopper is Just That Good (he most likely is), but that seems rushed to me.

I'm still excited for this game, especially since they overhauled the control scheme entirely after those initial videos. The game has been delayed multiple times not because it is shit, but because they took the early criticism to heart and revamped the gameplay.

Since it was a cool idea to begin with and should no longer be a wagglefest, shouldn't we be happier than we were when it was first announced?

@mjn328: Unfortunately, most gamers want to be blasted in the face with advertisements for the Next Big Thing, and any work in finding out about a lower-key title is unacceptable.

Yet, these are the same folks who whine about the lack of third-party support on the Wii!
