That's pretty funny... although, I've read other stories of similar things.

I dunno, should what transcribes within a virtual world really matter? Because, technically, NOTHING really happened. It's all fake.

@BPMΣ: There was still some sort of emotional drive to make him want to have sex in a virtual world. Fake or not, in his mind (and in my opinion), he wasn't being faithful to his wife. This guy's a grade-A douchebag.

Really Kotaku? Really? Did you actually have to report on this?

Much more to the effect, did you have to link to the video?

@Mike Fahey: Oh Mike *face-palm* I can't help but to respect your willingness to raise the awareness of SL. My own inner demons send me reeling back into junior-high-level mentality when I read SL stories. I have to fight the tendency to not point and laugh only because people who are generally into present it with a level of reverence that I can't wrap my head around.

I can't say for sure that I'll ever change but I do enjoy reading your pieces for SL (albeit for the wrong reasons :3 ).

yep, good old CBC and the Fifth Estate. BTW nobody watches that show.

and i have to agree with the guy, its not real.

highlight of the video was when she was searching for a polite way to say "screwing her in the ass" and then realized that this is CBC and you can swear all you want (after 10:00 anyway)

Yes...both are fantasies...but if you are married and love that person...why are you trying to get off to other people?

@Vecha: so would you consider your partner reading an erotic book or watching porn cheating?

or is it the interactive element, in which case would an erotic game on the DS be cheating?

or is it the multiplayer aspect? which beckons the question, whats so different between a character played by another player or a character played by the games writer, the film's cast or the books author?

to some degree I'm undecided on the issue... I'm not going to discount the authenticity of virtual relationships as to some people the feelings and emotional responses experienced online can be as real and the real life groping of boob, but likewise I can understand the human aspect wherin a person can grow tired or bored of their partner but still love them...

Like, they are mostly happy with their relationship but certain aspects of their needs can only be relieved via external means, be it getting your rocks off to porn, having a platonic but close relationship with a stranger or inadvertently taking a seat with chris hanson.... Im not saying any of them are morally right or wrong (indeed, my contempt for the concept of morality pretty much disallows such a sentiment), just pushing out the boat a little.

still, this story amused me somewhat.

@Toby Lurio: The 5th Estate and CBC's documentaries in general tend to be pretty good. They don't tend to report things in a sensationalist, "the next big thing you need to know" fear-mongering sort of way. They tend to go after what is interesting or pertinent to everyday people's lives.
