Ninja Gaiden arcade was... meh. But Rygar in the arcade might be the best game in the series! I would compare Rygar arcade (for those who don't know) to some of the best classic Castlevania games!
@AlucardsQuest: Castlevania? Nay. Arcade Rygar is WAY more fast paced than any 'Vania. I'd say it's more like a Super Turrican or Contra-esqe...or even more like NES Ninja Gaiden.
That's good, I was just wondering if they had abandoned it after those few launch titles. I'm still waiting for arcade Donkey Kong and its exclusive pie factory level.

@Devil Azite: Seven Force!: If every game had this GAME-OVER announcer guy's voiced theme, then it would be so tempting to lose the game just to hear it.
It's indeed more than I expected. They did push the DSi as I thought they would, but the storage for Wii (it's not perfect, but it's better), and a Zelda game were surprises. Then again, I couldn't get myself stoked for another DS Zelda (I have no idea why, I guess I would've liked something new).
So, highlight of the whole thing? I'd say that it was the picture of Miyamoto with a bandana around his face, "kidnapping" Nintendo employees.
Nintendo's primitive solution to storage space makes me laugh. They created a simplistic system and now they're trying to get around it's lack of next-gen features by using primitive technology. A bigger SD card! Genius! Now just swap files back and forth, wtf? Nintendo always behind, no surprise there. It doesn't matter. Nintendo is on top of the world and obviously a lot of people like simplicity.
I misused the word. I should have said Nintendo's rinky dinky solution to storage space. Now just stop defending Nintendo. They're already successful. They don't need you defending them. I'm not the mindless drone falling for the Wii.
@Orionsaint: But you are the mindless drone on the Wii bashing bandwagon. What one is better? Irrational hate, or Irrational defence... lets open a history book and see.
How am I Wii bashing by giving my opinion? If I liked it. I'd be a Nintendo Fanboy? I don't like the Wii, but if they showed something I liked. I'd be honest about my opinion on it.
A train? Ok. Zelda isn't a bad game most of the time, but it's beginning to feel to me like they're all running together and they struggle to come up with one new gameplay mechanic for each new installment so it doesn't feel like the same game over again. Maybe in the next game Link gets his realtor license. Or maybe he gets a magic codpiece that turns him into a woman when he puts it on.
...Ok, maybe I'd buy that last one, but you get my point.
...seriously, wasn't too pleased with this keynote. Iwata seemed out of touch on a lot of things, especially his "lolz prototype phase can take 2 years guys, serious" statement. How the hell could any company that's not already swimming in profit like Nintendo sustain themselves on that business model?
The Square Enix announcements were pretty cool, as was the SD Card launcher...but the new DS Zelda single-handedly killed my faith in Nintendo.
@Archaotic: World of Goo took 2 years to be made.. by just 2 guys. Putting effort in your games and being creative, that's how a company can sustain themselves.
From what I understand that was a clear message to all Wii developers that keep shoving crap on the system.
And the Zelda was great news to me.. loved the previous DS one. This only helped restoring my faith in Nintendo.
Well, the problem is that 2 years in PROTOTYPING before actual development even begins is an unrealistic dream for any developer that's not Activision; and Activision wouldn't do it because they develop their games in 6 months without even so much as a QA phase. Nintendo's basically looking at things from THEIR perspective, which is an unsustainable business model for anyone BUT them.
As for the Zelda game...I'm not much of a DS fan, especially for games that refuse to let me use the D-Pad and buttons. I love Kirby Super Star, Phoenix Wright, and stuff like that, but non-stop, unrepentant stylus usage rubs me the wrong way. That, and the way everyone was hyping today, it was looking to be a new Wii Zelda. Oh, how they were wrong. :[
It works for them. It does not work for other developers, especially ones without a constant profit stream due to selling everything they make considerably over cost.
I guess there saving Zelda for E3? Either way the SD solution is great, and I look forward to riding the Zelda train, not a whole lot annoucned from that though
well im disappointed, zelda is amazing but I wish they would stay clear of these tacky little inoventions and announched a console zelda instead, I've never been disappointed by a console version (barring zelda 2) however i've never really liked the portable zeldas, phantom hourglass annoyed the hell outta me, having to trek through the same dungeon again and again got repetitive and boring especially seeing as you had to complete some of the same puzzles over and over, but alas, heres hoping there saving something cool for e3.

What you doing out there, man?
That's pretty freaky, Bowie
Isn't it cold out in space, Bowie?

I'm glad someone besides me felt that way too. I know I'm in the minority, but not one of the DS Zelda's have really been special games to me.
