<![CDATA[Vigilante 8 Has PASSED XBLA TESTING! Oh Happy Day!]]> Finally! As part of the XBLA testing process, Vigilante 8 has been back and forth like a fiddler's elbow, but Isopod labs have announced that it has been given the thumbs up at last.

The bug that halted the game's progress has now been resolved and the release has been given a clean bill of health.

No release date yet, but that is due 'imminently'. COME ON LITTLE GAME! Nothing can stop you now!

<![CDATA[Vigilante 8 Skids Off Road]]> SQUEEEEeeeeeaaalll! KErrrrrr—UNCH! That is the sound of Vigilante 8 metaphorically skidding off the road from Isopod Labs to the Microsoft XBLA testing facility. It is now being towed back home by a metaphorical recovery vehicle.

Last month Isopod were all smiles when they sent their game off to XBLA, but sadly the game has run into some problems. Microsoft found a couple of bugs in one of it's own code libraries and the game has had to be changed and then resubmitted for more tests.

As Isopod say on the game's dev blog - "We certainly wish it was a quicker process, but this is how the cookie crumbles — not much else to do."

In the meantime, they recommend you check out Castle Crashers - good advice in any event.

<![CDATA[Vigilante 8 Arcade Finally Submitted To XBLA]]> It has been a long time coming, but Vigilante 8 Arcade is finally rumbling its way towards Xbox Live Arcade. After several months of developmental false starts, Isopod Labs have confirmed that they have sent what they hope is the final release version to Microsoft.

Microsoft's XBLA testing crew will now pore over the release code to ensure it is fit to grace the virtual shelves — I like to imagine that this bit takes place in a proper mad science lab with a Van der Graaf generator and loads of curly glass tubes.

Last we heard, Vigilante 8 Arcade was going to feature gameplay from both the original Nineties classic and the sequel, Second Offense, with a Noughties graphical makeover and plenty of single and multi-player options.

<![CDATA[Vigilante 8 Officially Returns Via Xbox Live Arcade]]> It's official, Activision is bringing back the Vigilante 8 franchise, with developer Isopod Labs bringing a remake of the decade-old original to Xbox Live Arcade this Spring. The vehicular combat classic will return with a heavy multiplayer aspect, supporting 8 players via Xbox Live or 4 via split-screen multiplayer. According to the official web site, which just launched, the team is also planning "voice and (hopefully) camera support" and all sorts of other bullet-pointed features. The press release is after the jump, but I highly recommend the official site for getting up to speed.
