according to Destructoid you'll need a comically oversized cardboard box as the "mat" that comes with the game is about as useless as a piece of paper.
The only "issue" VIII has when played on PS3 BC is the starting battle animation. Instead of giving the little swirling animation, the screen goes almost black instead of said animation.
@Coleman811: The developers have said they're determined to keep the on-line community active as their primary goal, so we'll see. I wish it were 400 points to drag more people in, but it's definitely worth the $10 price. It's just too much fun. :^)
@Kobun: Yeah the price for admittance is a little steep until you've played it. I'm addicted though. Anyone been able to get a golden guy match going yet to see what that's all about?
@lunchbox9: I'm guessing Golden Guy is similar to a one man king of the hill mode, similar to Soldat's Rambo mode. All I've seen on-line so far is Death Match and Rugby Riot. I love Rugby Riot, but damn if my teammates never seem to understand that there are two goals. Too many people are so eager to grab the ball and bring it back to base. :/
@lunchbox9: Update: Golden Guy is a gold suit and little stick horse toy costume. You need to wear it for five minutes to win -- getting shot knocks it off, but you can't shoot while wearing it. I'd say it's by far the weakest mode in the game as five minutes is just too long and too many maps are designed to be shot through, making it quite difficult to dodge and weave through the wave of rockets.
@Curse_Lily: I was tempted to get Cross Edge for Etna >_> unfortunately I have not been hearing good things about it, so what makes it good game for you?
(DEAD) Goldwings - Remembered for his bravery and heroism... xD was starred
(DEAD) Goldwings - Remembered for his bravery and heroism... xD was unstarred
@(Zombie) Goldwings: Well i have been playing for about 7 hours right now and i gotta say is
Gameplay:fun simple but solid and The depth in this game well let just say a boat load of of weapons and armor, hidden items, hidden characters.
Battle system:although not hard but you will need sometime to get the hold off.
Graphics:well let just say is not FFXII but i like it.
Character:Etna and Morrigan in different costumes do i need ro anything else.
Story:simple but funny all in all it's good
So if you like game like disgaea,Makai Kingdom,La Pucelle:Tactics then you're good. It's simple and a little difficult if you don't know what you're doing but when it's get going it's pretty awesome AND fanservice is plus by me.
PS.sorry for the late reply i was getting ready to go to the gym ^_^
@Dr. Spaceman: First two are the ones I'm playing currently... with a mixture of Bionic Commando (Rearmed too), Wolverine, and Bomberman thrown in for good measure. Prototype didn't meet my expectations, but inFamous blew mine away...
@Dawud: Well, I guess it was just that it was way more polished, I was more into the story and style of the game layout... I had a 14 hour straight inFamous play through without stopping for anything... whereas Prototype I can put down without thinking twice. It's fun, don't get me wrong. I love the Web of Intrigue, and I only need 3 more collectibles (I know where one is, so technically 2), but it just feels rushed and like it could've been made so much better...
@Leonharfs: Rushed is definitely a word I would use to describe Prototype; which is odd because it's been in development almost as long as inFamous was, and inFamous was announced in 2007.
@Archaotic: It might have to do with Prototype just being a hybrid of previous games though... The latest Hulk game on the Web of Shadows engine for a more mature audience... but that isn't a bad combination. I think another part of it is the generic side missions in the game, whereas with all the powers they could've been more innovative and done something more like Madworld in the sense of sadistic side missions.
@Leonharfs: Ah, I'm less of a story oriented guy myself. My problem with infamous was that it just felt really slow compared to prototype. After running up the side of a building at 45mph everything else feels seriously pedestrian. I bet if I spent more time with infamous I'd enjoy it more.
@Dawud: yeah, im not so much of a story guy myself either.. but when youre just running around destroying crap by yourself without some kind of draw.. it gets old (for me). i actually cared about what happened next in infamous, and most importantly.. i was excited about getting new powers/leveling up.
but as leonharfs said, the platforming is much better in infamous, which is a big seller for me. i love platform games.. mindless action is best played with 2 or more players. running up the side of a building is okay, but gets old and starts to feel like im just running around to me.
the architecture in prototype irked me as well, almost every building was flat. while in infamous, they had varying levels of depth.. which is more accurate to real life.
@litrock: Been trying to play Farcry 2 finally. Shit's boring but the graphics and shooting (nice) are helping me trod my way along to the end. If it doesn't glitch on me anymore that is.

Maybe a round or two of L4D.
This weekend feels more of a DVD weekend (finishing up Trigun, watching some Bond films - Tomorrow Never Dies).
Maybe some LocoRoco before bed...

can't wait to try prototype, so far red faction has been above my expectations, i'm hoping prototype does the same.
