So, if you're willing to spend $45 to use your remote to power on your machine, then you can buy this, but to me, the Nyko adapter works perfectly and makes a lot more sense.

Yup, I have one of those. Nothing wrong with it at all.
The ONLY drawback is that you can't power ON the PS3.
However, you can power it OFF via the media bar.

But again, I don't think that's a big deal. For $45 more, the only thing that the Logitech device can do over the Nyko one is turn on the machine itself.

One remote for everything and you can set up macros so you press a single button and it say turns on your tv, ps3, hifi and switches to your hdmi input. Pretty nifty little things...however that logitech adapter seems a little large for the job it does (tho it does look sleek) and another $60 ontop of the say $100+ remote...not worth it imo.

In fact, until this thing is actually affordable, I'll stick to playing my DVDs on my 360 and/or stand-alone DVD player.

Having an extra remote really doesn't bother me.
As for the Logitech Harmony remotes, I have the 360 version and the freaking LED display no longer works. It isn't under warranty anymore so I'm pretty much screwed. So multiple remotes it is for me.
