Good! The USPS is horrible and gets away with so much shit because it's a government organization. My friend who worked at a shipping store advised all of his customers to avoid USPS because shipping through them is like putting your package in the hands of God. You have no idea what will happen to it and you'll be lucky if it makes it there.

I have experience most of those complains for the five years that I had Gamefly. I had over 8 games stolen and I knew it was the post office because I personally took them to the office. I submmitted several complains to the post master and Gamefly was really understanding of the issue. I hope this receive better treatment because in the same amount of time that I have had Netflix I only receive a broken disc once while Gamefly has had more broken disc that I can remember.

@canchegundam: Me too! I've had several games stolen during my years with Gamefly, and I eventually realized it was always the same post office. I now drop off my games at a different post office, and surprise...no problems.

But Gamefly never charged me for the loss, and for that I thank them.

It's a legitimate complaint. I hope they can work something out.

I'm often amazed that the flimsy paper envelope my Netflix DVDs come in offers me perfectly playable discs 90% of the time.

I did have to stop dropping them off at my apartment's mail drop though, because some ass hats were stealing all of them. Haven't had any problems now that I go directly to the post office with them.

@Kris: I figured Netflix went with the cheaper packaging since DVDs are cheaper to replace than video games and the added expense just wasn't worth it. Over maybe two years of Netflix usage, I've only had three discs arranged cracked and broken (though a few others skipped beyond cleaning). Always wondered how the discs survived that flimsy mailer so well.

@Kobun: Well, when you think about it, most First Class mail is flat, and thin like those envelopes, so if you've ever seen a video of them being sorted, they aren't getting smashed by the weight of big cardboard boxes... they are just sliding across regular envelopes.

The problem comes in with careless manual handling, in my opinion. Even if the envelope gets caught in the machine, the worst that happens is you get a torn up Netflix envelope, and the DVD is still fine.

It's also machine-sorted at extremely high speed with a series of top/bottom rollers, and any flexing this process may cause would seriously increase the chances that the discs will break. Hence why, as GameFly is claiming, other rent-by-mail services have their discs pulled out of the mix and hand-sorted to prevent this from happening.

seems like a legit complaint. in the year or so i've had gamefly, i havent received a broken game, and hopefully the ones ive returned have been in good condition. still, if its costing that amount of money per month, it can only be hurting the consumer in the long run.

@Rey Rodrigues: I just hit my 1-Year with GameFly, and got my first broken game. Eat Lead came with a 1 inch break working outword from the center of the disc. To GameFly's credit, they took care of the issue.
