We liked what we saw at E3 of zombie survival sim State of Decay II. The sequel still involves leveling up a group of survivors, still has permadeath. Adds online co-op (with permadeath!) and hundreds more character traits. Can a guilt-motivated groundskeeper co-exist with a fight choreographer who snores? Spring 2018…
I'm a big fan of State of Decay, the little zombie game that could. I didn't get into it until a few months after it came out, but it quickly became one of my favorite games of 2013. We're finally getting a bona fide expansion, and it sounds cool.
In early 2011, Microsoft quietly announced an ambitious zombie game called Class3. Then said nothing about it for 18 months. It's back today, though, with a new name - State of Decay - and it's not looking too shabby.
Code name Class3 is not an action game with zombie targets. It's an open-world zombie survival game, and it's coming to the Xbox Live Arcade courtesy of Undead Labs and Microsoft Game Studios.
Founded by MMO industry veteran Jeff Strain, Undead Studios has only one goal - to create the definitive massively multiplayer zombie game for console gamers.
