Nathan Fillion was the first actor that popped into my head when I thought of a live-action film, although he looks a little older than Drake, and certainly doesn't have the kind of star power that Jackman is currently commanding. Seriously, go to any awards show, and when the valets drive the cars away, Jackman's car is parked on top of Fillion's car.
When we go see the film, I'm going to hand my wife a controller and see if she can figure out that it's not a video game. #uncharted
My PS3 lost track of both my DualShock 3s after the update, but when connecting the USB cable to them, it would recognize them. After trying to resync them a couple of times and restarting the system (by starting it from one of the controllers) they just started to work normally once again.
It never lost track of my Logitech Harmony PS3 Adapter for some odd reason though.
@zanzibarlegend: My wii wont play Xbox 360 games and my xbox 360 wont play dreamcast games and my dreamcast wont play NES games and my NES wont play atari 2600 games since my PS3 got the 3.0 update...
It seems that only the Hong Kong DualShock model CECHZC2H is affected by the bug. Both white and black models are affected (not sure if the black one has same model name), but the majority of reports are white ones since you can get the black version anywhere so no one imports those.
Also, from what I could read, only people who have imported it have the problem, not sure if having a Hong Kong PS3 + DS3 would result in same issues.
Since most people importing the white DS3s also have original Sixaxis, they are still able to access their PS3 for eventual 3.01 update. If there are people that only have that single controller available, they might be in trouble since they can't do anything except start their console.
@E-lai-e: I have a White DualShock 3 from japan, I got it from Anime Boston 2008 about several months before the DualShock 3 came out here in America.... It has been working fine, I havent noticed any strange issues...
@SegamanXero:
@laser beams:
Then it seems only the Hong Kong version is affected. I assume that most people imported from Japan since they get all the additional colors first, so the problem should not be that wide-spread.
@Desmondia: he's on to something. sony has a dastardly plan to make people buy a console, and ruin their experience with a messed up FW update. that way they can take even more losses, so they will take their final bow out of the gaming business. that way they can concentrate on the walkman for once.
i just felt the need to expand on his conspiracy against sony customers.
Maybe it should also be reported that after the 3.0 update some users became incompatible with their PS3s and were unable to feel the emotion love.
The last part is due to no software emulation of the emotion engine.
@Griefy: "But its not true love if its false."
It is also said that love cannot be bought for money. But apparently it can be bought with cross-game chat.
FW3.00 wasn't anything special. I guess it was mostly behind the scenes as PSN n the store seem to load up a bit faster. the new themes may be nice, just sucks there now charging for themes.
I'm just waiting for them to officially announce Skype support already, though I guess Ebay selling it off yesterday may have put up a small roadblock.
@Pult|Ost - Not Backwards Compatible: Okay, yeah had a look, theres a Bioshock theme for 80p. but thats like it. 99% of themes are free. The standard themes can be home made, theres no money to be made when folks can so easily make their own.
I haven't got to even play anything yet, so I'm not aware of any of these issues. What is useful is that I should stay away from my console until they fix the bugs up.
I am currently playing through Uncharted in preparation for the sequel. I have just gone through the II, V, VII part and I haven't used my 6 axis since I got it - No errors on my machine.
@DigitalHero: this is a pretty common thing for them to do, esp. when they run contests to be whichever "number" commenter. I think there is a threshold of 300-500 comments before it gets bogged down.
@Outkastprince: I haven't had a problem on my slim but I'm sure Sony is on it for those with the issue.
Also I would like to add that many of the comments on the blog were NOT about Dual Shock's not working. Most were complaining about the fonts and the news ticker. Most of this is FUD. (Not saying it doesn't happen but I don't believe it's as widespread as you are being led to believe.)
@ToKeN2k6: It didn't get bogged down and I check the blog regularly. It went from 300 to 1400 and it was still functional. It didn't become a problem until 1400 comments were added.
the only problem I seem to have is with music playback;
In previous firmwares pressing the PS button on the controller mid-song would take me back to the XMB so I can choose another song, or surf the net/look at pictures, whereas now it asks me if I want to quit playback...
My brother claims that this isn't the case on his PS3 though I'm yet to confirm this first hand... also, I'm yet to hear of anybody else with the problem...
@exion: I heard you have to change some audio setting some where, my guess is the change to output audio to more than one device at a time had something to do with this.
@audiodidact: Yeah, that happened to me too. Ironically it was the update that was promptly released to fix the myriad problems people reported from the previous update that bricked mine.

I get a feeling that when something like this happens, people can sort of use it as an excuse for pre-existing problems.
