A Duo Of Twisted Metal Head On: Extra Twisted Edition Clips

While we weren't so excited about Twisted Metal Head On: Extra Twisted (Extra Long Name) Edition for PS2 when it was announced—despite our love for the series, we'd played the game once before—we can't help but to get a little excited when watching clips of the new version in motion. They makes us wonder why we ever put down the PSP version in the first place, a game that was closer to the heart of the fanboy-acclaimed Twisted Metal 2 than any other in the franchise. Enjoy this look at Moscow and a peak at Egypt after the jump.

Week in Games: Devil May Cry 4 Edition

We've got some good titles coming out this week ready to steal my hard earned money. Devil May Cry 4 is definitely on my list and I'm kind of curious about this Assassin's Creed game on the DS. I've been playing a bit of Culdcept Saga and found myself oddly addicted. I guess it's the tabletop gaming nerd in me rearing its geeky head again. What's on your list this week?

Devil May Cry 4 (PS3, X360)
The stylish fighting styles are back with a whole new hero.

Turok (X360, PS3, PC)
It's a dinosaur massacre!

Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles (DS)
The fate of Altair rests in the palm of your hand.

Sins of a Solar Empire (PC)
Space strategy!

Culdcept SAGA (X360)
Think Monopoly meets Magic the Gathering.

Twisted Metal: Head On: Extra Twisted Edition (PS2)
Get out of that ice cream truck for the very first time.

Spaceforce: Captains (PC)
Create your own space station and control the galaxy.

Downstream Panic! (PSP)
Lead your school of fish to freedom

Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore (X360, WII, PS2)
Let a virtual Simon tell you how bad your virtual voice is, virtually!

Nobunaga's Ambition: Rise to Power (PS2)
Experience Feudal Japan like you may have never experienced it before but probably have.

The Spiderwick Chronicles (X360, PS2, PC, DS)
The creepy kid's novels spawn a game.

Zoo Tycoon 2 DS (DS)
Own your own miniature zoo.

My Horse and Me (WII, DS)
It's my horse and me, er well ...your horse and you.

Medieval II Total War: Gold Pack (PC)

Jaffe Introduces Twisted Metal Blog

God of War and Twisted Metal designer David Jaffe has posted a video on the Playstation.Blog site announcing the launch of the official Twisted Metal Blog. According to Jaffe, this the first time the game has had any kind of official blog covering its development and launch. To kick things off he has posted four gameplay videos with some short explanations to go along with. TM fans will be glad to know that Twisted Metal: Head On comes out on Tuesday for the PS2 at the low, low bargain price of $19.99.

Jaffe Says Clues To Next Game Hidden In Twisted Metal Remake

Desperate for even the slightest taste of what David Jaffe and the team at Eat Sleep Play have planned for their next title? You might want to take a look—a hard look—at their first, Twisted Metal Head On: Extra Twisted Edition. Jaffe tells GamePro that the follow-up is "absolutely revealed" in the forthcoming PlayStation 2 port, but that details are "hidden really, really, really well." Whatever it is, it's not necessarily a new Twisted Metal title.

Given that Jaffe claims the clues are "so well hidden" and "really cryptic", we estimate it will take a good 45 minutes after the game hits store shelves for details to pop up on the internet. 50 minutes, tops.

Twisted Metal: Head On Debut Trailer

For those who missed it earlier, the PlayStation 2 port of PSP car combat hit Twisted Metal: Head On has been revealed and it looks... yep, it's Twisted Metal alright. Yes, yes, it's for the fans, but I think I'm ready for that PlayStation 3 sequel now. Next-gen online multiplayer, please!

Jaffe Shows Off Twisted Metal: Head On For PS2

David Jaffe's current independent venture, Eat Sleep Play, is already hard at work on its first project for Sony, an upgraded port of the PSP vehicular shooter Twisted Metal: Head On. Not content with the single colon in the original, the ESP team has added a second, bringing us the tongue twister title Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition. Jaffe gives us an early look at the game on the official PlayStation blog, showing off screen shots and a new trailer, the latter featuring a good hard look at Jaffe himself.

While the PlayStation 2 game may rival Tom Clancy and Square-Enix products with its extra long name, Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition looks like it will satisfy followers of the series with its copious bonus features and fan service.

New Twisted Metal is Extra Heavy

It looks like Eat Sleep Play's new Twisted Metal: Head-On PS2 title will be more than just a PSP title with better graphics. It will be a PSP title with better graphics and plenty of extras (on top of the documentary that's been announced). From Jaffe himself:

...it seems like we're gonna get some great fan videos coming in, so that- along with tons of old concept art, toys, video, and other behind the scenes stuff we've uncovered- should make for a good package! I'm jazzed!
I'm jazzed too, Jaffe. I'm jazzed too.

Jaffe Opens Fan Floodgate For Twisted Metal Documentary

Remember David Jaffe's teaser post about an upcoming Twisted Metal documentary? If not, the Eat Sleep Play honcho revealed that the doc, planned for the PlayStation 2 release of Twisted Metal: Head On will feature some lucky, articulate PlayStation fans in video form. All you have to do is answer a handful of questions about why you love Twisted Metal so much on camera, then upload your cliip to YouTube. It looks like the details are still being worked out, but the questions you'll need to answer are set in stone.

Did I mention that in addition to PlayStation fame, you'll also score a free copy of the game if selected? Not a bad bonus for a few minutes of rambling.
