While I love the sources that they are based on, I cant bring myself to purchase a copy of any iteration. I did try out LEGO SW 1 and it was fun for about one level before I put the controller down and switched it to something else.
I havent experienced any of the cute humor that these games have from my very limited time with the game.
That said, I would like to give these games another go if and only if they make a compilation of all these LEGO games into one and charge less than $70 for it (including all past and future adventure titles for this gen; excluding LEGO RB of course).
Its a shame that they've used the barely changed formula so much in the past few years, its really getting old, looks the same as always. Still absolutly full of charm though.
@excel_excel: I'm going to disagree on the charm comment. This video looks like a painful recreation with minimal effort. The shots of the towns and Hogwarts look terribly bland. Hopefully this will end up exceeding my current impression of the game.
@excel_excel: As someone who has only played Lego Star Wars and tiny pieces of Lego Batman, I am not terribly worn out on the Lego games quite yet.
However, I have made it a goal of mine to place a lot of time in between each game. In addition, I plan on never diving into the Lego Indy games due to a lack of attachment to the film series.
The end result is that the Lego games become a guilty pleasure of mine that I can indulge in every once in a great while.
@BillyTheRatKing: I hope they change something with the peripherals, or the note bar thing, so all the notes are pegs, and for the drums, they have a yellow 4 piece that represents the kick.
Looks "cute" and all, but considering the other choice is The Beatles........yeah that really doesn't seem like much of a choice at all. I'm not sure why they would compete with themselves by releasing two "stand alone" games so close to each other. I mean if you can import these Lego games into Rock Band that's all well and good, but you lose what would be the main reason for buying the game, watching Lego characters rock out.
I mean it just seems like kind of a joke to me to release a stand alone game featuring the greatest band of all time and then 2 months later release another game. I guess some people will buy them both, and whoever doesn't like The Beatles (Crazy people? Anti-Brits? Wags?) will buy Lego Rock Band. But to me this game is a total afterthought. I'd like to have the songs in RB2 but would never even come close to considering paying full MSRP just to see Lego characters up on stage.
You say that nothing has leaked about it. That's because nobody seriously cares at this point. What can they possibly do besides add more of the same instruments? Everybody already knows the songs. So who cares? There's really not much to leak.
First, Unplugged got leaked now this. Harmonix needs to be a lot more careful about their stuff next time. Or are they doing it on purpose to gather more hype? Just saying.
Lol, game after game, slowly but surely, lego figures tend to get that much more mobile and limber. these arent even legos anymore, they're rubber skins for normal rockband characters. I wanted to see robotic, poor, limited stop motion movements like on youtube.
@LllusionX: In soviet russia, I'm with the KGB.: I don't think they are too nimble. there is a bit of hip waggling that shouldn't happen but apart from that it seems ok, they need to get the balance right between nimble and not having the stage persona that a rockstar should have. I think they have done this.
@No I wouldn't like tea and crumpets: Look at their arms for instance. If you're going to make a lego game, make it funny, as that is why most people buy them. I hope it's not asking too much to make them act like a stop motion cartoon?
Plus, the only real benefit I can see of LEGO Rock Band would be to use more video-style performances like the above instead of typical live concert backgrounds.

Yeah but no one's going to buy a game about the Beatles. They're a horrible band and nobody likes them.

Why laugh? You know it's true. There's nothing innovative about it and they're just milking the cash cow.

This is so funny.

From a business perspective, though, this makes sense.
Should I be part of the problem and forward this to my nephew who adores the LEGO series of games?
