@Komrade Kayce: I reinstalled Tropico when I heard about the remake. I notice that I tend to take a middle of the road approach. I'll stuff ballot boxes to keep playing, but I don't execute dissidents to avoid the negative repurcussions. I tend to have a "leftist" economy, only because farming and mining are easy to do. I still end up building up tourism, though, to appease the capitalists.
Hooray! Liked the first Tropico well enough though it had some game design issues. Unfortunately I singed up for the beta of this game and I didn't get in :(
I do want a new City-Sim. They've been a bit thin on the ground past few years. Theres that Anno 1404, but that seems to be more trading that city building.
Ahh to be a South American communist dictator again. My dreams of benevolent opulence giving way to the realities of deep seeded political tensions, the drug trade, and armed militants occupying our outskirts. Sigh... Those were the days.

"some interface elements changed to better take advantage of the Xbox 360 controller"
Or, in other words, lots of radial menus have been added to compensate for the crippling lack of mouse and keyboard. Maybe next year they'll patch in Natal support so you that you literally can point and click.
@BritBloke916: Hahaha, so sad but true. A game like this really needs to be on the PC, I don't understand what they're thinking. For some reason, I don't see this selling well on the 360. And it'll be a shame since I loved the first Tropico =/
Here's hoping for a PC version (which there better be...)

Of course, it never worked out quite right and a few residents of my island had to be 'removed' for quality control.

And also to pull your finger across your throat with one hand while pointing to someone you don't like with the other.
To, yknow, send them a fruit basket.
