It's also getting a LEGO brick adaptation of that very same movie. You know what that means? Chesty Jake LEGO!

According to the LEGO obsessed crew at Brickset, there will be at least five set pieces turned sets of LEGO pieces, featuring various Prince of Persia predicaments. These include Quest Against Time, Hassasins Hide Out, Fight For The Dagger, Battle of Almut and The Ostrich Race. That last set of LEGO appears to be the only one which may contain a shirtless Jake mini-fig, if that's the sort of thing you might be into.

All five sets—well, save for Hassasins Hide Out, which is not pictured—look like a lot of LEGO fun, but the set to own is clearly The Ostrich Race. It's not often that LEGO ostriches come along.

<![CDATA[It's The Mr. Potato Head Of Halo Figures]]> It can be said McFarlane make too many Halo figures. A Spartan with a blue helmet, a Spartan with a blue helmet and a slightly different gun...it's a nickel and dime show.

If only you could just buy one figure, and customise it yourself...oh, like you can with this new "Halo Rogue Deluxe Armour Pack", the toy manufacturer obviously having been informed by Pantone that there aren't any more colours left to paint the same Spartan with.

It's a "blank" figure, which comes with a variety of weapon and armour configurations for you to play dress-ups with, including all the important Hayabusa gear, and should be out around March.

<![CDATA[Custom Punch-Out!! Action Figures Prove Demand For Real Punch-Out!! Action Figures]]> As part of The Fwoosh's eight annual CustomCon, figure customizer "Fugazi" has created the Punch-Out!! line-up in full, plastic boxer bodies harvested from other toys and repurposed for the greater good. They're all here, from Little Mac to Soda Popinski.

Check out the full gallery at The Fwoosh for detail shots of each classic Punch-Out!! character, including shots of some characters with alternate heads—like the bug-eyed, gut-punched Bald Bull—and Glass Joe is his natural, KO-ed state.

You know, I think we're all set on Halo action figures, toy industry. How about something more Punch-Out!!-ey in the future?

<![CDATA[R-Type in Diecast]]> Side-scrolling shooter R-Type is ready to blast up in diecast model form. Diecast — bringing back childhood memories of metal.

The model is of R-Type's "Madou Gokin RWF-9A Arrow Head" and will be released in Japan next March. It's 5.11" long and fully painted. And there's a force pod, too! Pre-orders start at US$129.90.

<![CDATA[WoW's Pandaren Get The Action Figure Treatment]]> From April Fools joke to cult hero, World of Warcraft's Pandaren have come a long, long way. Now, they can go a little further, and join you slobbing it at your desk.

For a limited time, Blizzard will be selling action figures of their most special fat panda, Chen Stormstout. They'll be $50, and available only from Blizzard's online store, so if this kind of thing sets your commercial klaxons sounding, best be snappy.

<![CDATA[New King Of Fighters Figure Bares (Almost) All]]> Need something to wash the taste of that movie trailer out of your mouths, KoF fans? How about this new Vanessa figure. Yes, Vanessa. Not Mai. Vanessa. Who seems to have lost all her buttons.

This figure, by A-Label, will be out next year in Japan. It stands at around 30cm high, and you should be able to import it for around USD$80-90. You want buttons, you gotta buy them yourself, so that's extra.

<![CDATA[Custom Bayonetta "Figure" Gets The Outfit Right]]> The actual, offical Bayonetta figure is a little...off. Something's not quite right about her proportions. This custom "doll", though, looks set to make amends.

Remember, it's a one-off custom, so forget about buying it. Just look, try and find a way to describe it that doesn't use the word "doll", admire how creator "Zin" got the PVC so right, then get on with the daily business of waiting for either Square Enix's version or the hitherto mysterious Kotobukiya one.

<![CDATA[WoW Cosplay Goes The Extra Mile With Official Uniforms, Weapons]]> It's World of Warcraft's fifth birthday this week, and longtime Blizzard collaborator Sideshow Collectibles are going all out. Not with statues, either. With tabards (ie the things you wear over chainmail), giant flags, and even full-size replica weapons.

There are two tabards ($80) available, one for the Horde, one for the Alliance. They'll fit a large, brave human. There are also two flags, again, one for each faction ($40). At 7m x 5m, these are bigger than a human. And there's a lifesize replica of the Frostmourne sword as well, which is selling for $150 (and is available only in the US, sorry).

All five items will be shipping early next year, so really, the only way they're tying in with the game's fifth birthday celebrations is that this is the week they're taking your money.

<![CDATA[New Figures For ODST, Halo Wars, Halo 2 & 3]]> The seventh series of McFarlane's Halo figures draws from four of the franchise's games, three of its species, numerous gaudy colours and even a little Ninja Gaiden.

Due for release in early 2010, there'll also be a weapons pack, should your diorama be lacking in duel-wielding or grenades. You'll be able to get them anywhere you can already get the previous 1,345 figures in the range.

<![CDATA[Stick Professor Layton On Your Shelf]]> With a new Layton movie due out in Japan next month, it's time to start cashing in! And there's no better way than with a line of small, neat little action figures.

These are "FuruFuru" figures, which basically means "bobblehead", only more subtle, with everyone's proportions in order. There are two available - the good Professor and Luke - and you can import them for just under $30 each.

Steep, yeah, but on the bright side they're not asking you to solve any stupid match-stick puzzles in the checkout process.

<![CDATA[Mommy, Where Do Video Game Toys Come From?]]> There are a lot of video game toys out there. We should know. But did you ever stop to wonder, amidst all the yearning and admiration for a hunk of painted vinyl, just where it came from?

Toy importer Pop Culture Shock do, as they've published a gallery on Capcom's site showing the factory in China where SOTA's Capcom statues are put together and finished off.

Most of the shots depict SOTA's Zangief piece being assembled then painted, but you'll also see Sagat and Darkstalker's Felicia pop up as well.

Makes you wonder why they don't advertise "individually hand-painted" on the box.

<![CDATA[Nero Figure Has A Devil On His Shoulder]]> This is Yamato's Nero figure, from Devil May Cry 4. He is large, he's so far only slated for a Japanese release, and has a rather childish look of disappointment to him.

Like he asked for an ice cream, and his mother said "no".

Made by Yamato, you can import it when it's released in December for just over $100.

<![CDATA[Twisted Metal, Heavenly Sword Action Figures Ship A Little Late]]> Next year, DC Comics' collectible arm DC Direct will ship action figures based on Sony's Sweet Tooth and Nariko, precisely at the peak of Twisted Metal and Heavenly Sword hype.

Alright, alright, so maybe Heavenly Sword will be a nearly three-year-old PlayStation 3 game by the time this Nariko action figure ships next July. But maybe Sony and Twisted Metal co-creator David Jaffe will have a new Twisted Metal game readied for the PS3 around the same time. Then the release of a new Sweet Tooth action figure will make a lot more sense.

Details on the figures are still scant, but solicitations from DC Direct put them on course for landing at toy store shelves on July 28, 2010.

<![CDATA[Metal Gear Rex Figure: Big, Shiny, Enormous]]> Hong Kong-based toy company threeA will be releasing a Metal Gear Rex figure sometime next year. As you can see from these pics, the detail is incredible. As is the sheer size of the thing.

No idea on an exact release date or price, but don't expect this to be either widely-available or cheap.

<![CDATA[Nice Modern Warfare 2 Statue, Kotobukiya]]> Sony may actually have found a meaningful way to get people using PlayStation Home again, at least for a night, by giving away some sweet, sweet Modern Warfare 2 statues.

If you join a Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer game via Home between 2100-0100 ET (1800-2200 PT) tonight, you'll be in the running to win one of these Soap MacTavish statues crafted by Kotobukiya, first unveiled in September (and bundled with "Veteran Edition" copies of the game).

Looks great, and everyone loves Soap. Smart thinking, Sony.

There's some trickery involved in joining a game that'll be eligible to win one of 10 of these statues, so hit the link below for the full details. And if you can't be bothered with Home? The statues are available separately for $80 at your favourite comic store and/or online retailer.

<![CDATA[Mega Man And Mega Bear Hit The Bricks]]> Medicom combines their Kubrick and Bearbrick lines into one adorable set of Mega Man figures, coming in January 2010 to a dusty shelf near you.

The Kubrick/Bearbrick Mega Man set is actually a Rockman set, but I figured our North American readers might know him better by his bastardized name. Rockman looks vaguely pissed to be packaged alongside a clear blue Rockman fan-bear, but such is his lot in life. Not even swapping out his helmet for flowing hair seems to help.

The two figure set, which Capcom revealed back in October, is the first of two combo packs from Medicom, with a Proto Man set on the way featuring a similarly 1-Upped Bearbrick figure.

The Rockman set will begin shipping to fine toy importers in January. NCSX is currently accepting preorders, with $30.90 securing your 2.75 inch robot bear pair.

<![CDATA[Splatterhouse Figure Won't Bring Jennifer Back]]> It will, however, look great in your office, custom toysmith Jin Saotome's latest piece capturing Splatterhouse's Rick in all his barbaric, denim-clad glory.

A reminder: this is a one-off custom figure, not something you'll find clipped to an aisle in your local Toys R' 'Us. If you want one (or something like it), take it up with Namco Bandai's licensing department.

<![CDATA[Don't You Wish You Worked At Insomniac?]]> Check out these vinyl toys CreatureBox and Gentle Giant put together as gifts for Insomniac Games employees. Even the weird-looking Qwark puts all the coffee mugs I've ever gotten to shame.

The full employee gift set includes Qwark, Clank and Ratchet. To give you an idea of scale, Qwark is a whopping 15 inches wide.

CreatureBox says of their creations:

We're huge fans of vinyl toys and wanted to do our own take on the characters we have come to know all too well. [...] Not sure if these will ever be released to the public, for now they are just for employees.

Bummer. But maybe by next San Diego Comic Con, that'll change.
