Tonight Team Kotaku will be taking on Team Gizmodo in a little Halo 3 bloodbath. I say bloodbath because while the Giz folks have been training like Spartan warriors, getting online every night to play as a codified team, I've had trouble getting our team to stay awake long enough to sign in to Live.

Tonight's match-up, which I will be streaming live on Justin.TV, will be a bit more like frat boys rolling a bunch of drunks then an actual fight, with shots being fired from both sides.

Our team will consist of myself, Fahey, Mark and Luke, while Team Giz will be Brian, Jason, Matt and Travis. Feel free to debate here which of our team:

A: Chokes on his own vomit
B: Wets himself
C: Gets an actual kill

<![CDATA[ World In Conflict Game Off - Results ]]> So the World In Conflict Game Off challenge has come and gone, and if you look closely in the smoking ruins of a small northwestern town you might catch a glimpse of mine and Crecente's battered bodies laying in pieces along a mile of crater-pitted roadway. Two rounds were played, one with Kotaku representing the US and the other representing mother Russia, and in both instances devs Vextor and Emma completely decimated our pitiful team in minutes. The third round we swapped partners, with Vextor and I facing Crecente and Emma. Showing what a difference a good partner makes, this time the game lasted until the timer ran out, and when the smoke cleared my team stood triumphant, waving the American flag while enjoying some hot dogs and apple pie. Remember, just because we were pathetic losers doesn't mean you have to be. Keep an eye posted for the aforementioned cool swag that we'll be giving away in the near future!

<![CDATA[ The World in Conflict Game Off ]]> THUMB-briancrecente.jpg

The Massive folks have challenged Team Kotaku to a little game-off in World in Conflict this week. They will be pitting two of the guys who helped create the game against myself and Fahey, in other words we are going to have not just our asses, but just about all of our body parts handed to us.

In exchange for this online pummeling we've agreed to undertake, Massive is going to send us videos of our digital disgrace for posting on the site and whether we win or not we take home some prizes. Not prizes for us, no, all we get is the public humiliation, the prizes will be for you, dear readers.

The Massive folks are going to hand over several copies of World in Conflict, some sort of autographed World in Conflict swag and some uber prize, perhaps a World in Conflict Skateboard or track jacket. I'm hoping to get you guys the board, because I've seen it and it kicks ass. No promises yet on what exactly we'll be getting for you, but it's going to be super cool.

Check back Friday evening to see just how horrible Fahey and I were whooped.

<![CDATA[ VH1 Kicks MTV's Guitar Hero Ass ]]>

Say it ain't so. I always thought MTV kicked VH1's ass, but apparently it's the other way round. The VH1 Online gaming team went up against the MTV Wireless squad in a Guitar Hero grudge match and apparently wiped the floor with them.

Highlights included Austin rocking out with a flawless rendition of "Iron Man," Paul reaching 62,000+ in Joan Jett's classic "I Love Rock & Roll," Felicia with nearly 67,000 with "Sharp Dressed Man," and Jen with a mammoth 82,000+ in "I Wanna Be Sedated." Can the intrepid MTV Wireless team ever come back from such an overwhelming flogging? Stay tuned.

I want to see Goldberg take on Totillo. Then I'd be impressed.

<![CDATA[ Play Advanced Warfighter, Win a Car ]]> Dodge_Caliber_tekstam.jpg

Ubisoft, Best Buy and Chrysler are throwing a little Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter tourney and the grand prize is a Dodge Caliber and $1,000.

You register through Bestbuy.com and the tournament, which is being run by the Global Gaming League, will culminate in a "huge death match at the E3 convention center. (You know, that's the convention that only vendors, industry folk and journalists can get into.)

Registration opens on March 19. Sounds like a ton of fun. Someone who doesn't suck (that would not be me) needs to put together a Team Kotaku and go kick some camo ass.
